A group of medical students have decided to spend the weekend helping their friend, Jerry, fix up the old foster home he's bought and is planning to reopen. Little do they know that, ten years ago, a terrible massacre occurred there which saw a number of young children brutally slaughtered. Things get off to an ominous start; when the group arrives, Jerry is nowhere to be found and a strange, raspy voice, coming from somewhere inside the house, warns the youngsters to leave. Not letting any of this spoil their plans, the friends set about cleaning (and pairing off for sex). But their fun is short lived when a track jacket wearing killer with ties to the property's gruesome past starts bumping them off one by one.
A low budget, high energy slasher/murder mystery which cheerfully embraces its low budget and trashy sensibilities, Dominick Brascia's (Hard Rock Nightmare) directorial debut EVIL LAUGH stars Ashlyn Gere (Lunchmeat, Dreamaniac), Johnny Venokur (Savage Streets), and Steven Baio (TV's Happy Days), who also produced and co-wrote. Made by a cast and crew who adored the horror genre and rendered all the more effective by a series of wild and horrific murders, Vinegar Syndrome is proud to present the world Blu-ray debut of EVIL LAUGH, featuring a new 2K restoration from extremely rare 16mm film elements along with a brand new, feature-length making-of documentary which tells the fascinating story of its production.

"Excellent packaging can’t wait to watch"
"An excellent little regional slasher that makes up for its shortcomings with its charm and atmosphere."
"This is a little seen slasher whose gimmick is the killer laughs hysterically when he/she commits a murder. I was let down by this one, because inexplicably the killer quits laughing midway through the film thus nullifying its gimmick. The killer's get up is also absurd and generic as hell. Worth a watch, but I wouldn't expect a lot while viewing."
"An average entry in the slasher-comedy B genre. The acting and screenplay are lacking, yet still passable. I'm doubtful I will rewatch it in the future."
"Very enjoyable 80s slasher with great atmosphere and good kills. (But how did the killer get a microwave to work with its door open??!!). Grest slipcover and artwork."
"If you love slashers from this era, this is a must own. Dumb characters, great kills, fun twists."
"Not the best slasher but entertaining enough if you like unearthing these weird little obscurities."
"Great low budget horror comedy from the fat guy with the candy bar from Jason 5."
"A decade before Scream set the standard for ironic meta-horror, Evil Laugh got there first — and… well, not better. That’s not to say there aren’t laughs to be had. Most are unintentional, but that’s part of the film’s scrappy DIY charm. Add a goofy “cleanin’ and dancin’” montage set to a dreadful unlicensed party anthem, physics-defying kills, and the oddly homoerotic attention paid to actor Myles O’Brien’s frequently semi-nude physique, and you’ve got something uniquely endearing. The slip design stays close to the original artwork — not a complaint. Embossed lettering and spot gloss give it the polished touch we’ve come to expect from Vinegar Syndrome. Extras are lean, but lean doesn’t mean lacking. A feature-length making-of documentary and commentary from The Hysteria Continues provide more than enough context for a film that probably doesn’t need a dissertation."
"Your run of the mill slasher flick. Took bits from every known franchise - Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween etc. But I do have a soft spot for these films. And it looks like everyone had fun doing it. Rated it 3 and green - will watch again 💚"
