Heavy metal band Solid Gold are heading up into the snowy mountains to shoot their latest music video, accompanied by their crew and a host of scantily-clad dancers. However, it’s not long before a huge avalanche rocks the area, trapping the rockers and their glamorous entourage on the mountain. The group attempts to radio for help, unaware that its troubles have only just begun - for nearby, a feral, disfigured family has been hiding out in an abandoned factory for decades, and it doesn't take kindly to strangers. As, one by one, the members of the group wander off to explore the factory, the carnage begins as the crazed family resorts to every possible bloodthirsty measure in an attempt to protect its territory.
Helmed by the enigmatic and extremely prolific Swedish director Mats Helge Olsson (The Ninja Mission), with additional directorial duties being handled by notorious British sexploiter Derek Ford (whose horror writing credits include Don’t Open Till Christmas and The House That Vanished), and starring the then-members of real-life Swedish glam metal band Easy Action, BLOOD TRACKS is a satisfyingly gruesome slasher outing offering up a surprising variety of gory thrills - including impalements, bisections and burnings - plus plentiful bare skin. Now newly restored in 4K from its original 35mm film elements and presented in stunning scope for the very first time, Vinegar Syndrome is delighted to crank up BLOOD TRACKS for its world Blu-ray debut, accompanied by a rocking selection of both new and archival extras!

Reviews
Crank it up
"Big Hair? Check. Title song thats an ear worm? Check. Cannibals? CHECK CHECK CHECK! I originally saw Blood tracks on a crappy vhs copy so this restoration and transfer was a god send. While it had always been enjoyable. . . now blood tracks is downright genre defining. Think a rock band vs the hills have eyes and you have a idea of what you are in store for. The extras are great. Actors return to tell the tale."

Hair Band Gets Sliced And Diced
"This was a weird little slasher. It had some good kills, and I genuinely liked the hair band. They weren't played as caricatures. The threat in this film to them is ludicrous though. That really brought the movie down to me."
— Nathan L. (2/5)
80s horror forever
"Blood Tracks feels like someone threw a slasher, a music video, and a snowstorm into a blender and somehow made it work. The atmosphere alone sold me immediately — snowy settings in horror always hit different, especially mixed with the grimy 80s aesthetic and over-the-top kills. It’s cheesy in the best way possible, but there’s still something genuinely creepy underneath all the chaos. Movies like this are exactly why I got into the genre because they feel way more creative and memorable than a lot of modern stuff."
— Kenia C. (5/5)
Blood Tracks
"This one was fun. I hope VS puts out more Swedish horror from the 1980s."

Swedish hair metal slasher

Not that great a movie, but an interesting release
"Fairly unavailable in the US, I was glad to see VS putting out this UK-Swedish co-production that had been shrouded in a bit of mystery. Only previously available in terribly cropped 4x3 editions that were very dark and muddy, VS' release restores the 'Scope framing and renders much more legible this obscure slasher. It's not terribly good - kind of HILLS HAVE EYES by way of one of those '80s rock-horror movies - but it's nice to finally be able to see what's going on. Where this shines is the supplements: a nice commentary and a bunch of cast and crew interviews shed light on the crazy background of this unlikely international co-production (with a very mysterious director!). Even if you don't love the film, it's well worth picking up for these bonuses, and is, overall, another nice package from VS!"

Boobs, Blood & Rock 'n' Roll
"Synopsis: 40 years ago a woman protected her family by murdering her abusive husband and fled the scene with the intention of living a nomadic life on the run. Present day (195) they have been holed up in an abandoned industrial plant and have sort of become mutants willing to protect their sanctuary. This is terrible for the rock band Solid Gold, who decide to shoot a snow time music video in the isolated location and stumble across this violent family. Review: Surprisingly there was plenty of gruesome violence throughout this ‘80s hair band horror in the snow flick. The traps were shocking, as was the willingness to kill off just about anyone. Boobs, blood and rock ‘n’ roll are about all you get here but that is enough for me. Carnage Count 3/5 Sleaze 3/5"

Weird stuff, love it!
"Sat on the fence for a while on this one but glad to have finally nabbed it and got a copy. Heard there were audio issues but I didn’t find anything distracting. Fun movie!"
— Adam V. (4/5)
Great slasher
