From the damaged mind of director Rick Sloane (HOBGOBLINS) comes BLOOD THEATRE and THE VISITANTS.
In Sloane's 1984 debut, BLOOD THEATRE, an old movie house in which a massacre occurred decades earlier, finally re-opens only to be once again targeted by a bloodthirsty maniac intent on murdering anyone and everyone who makes the mistake of buying a ticket. Packed with low rent bloodshed, BLOOD THEATRE exemplifies the no-budget aesthetic Sloane relished and features the one and only Mary Woronov (EATING RAOUL) in a supporting role.
Sloane's second feature effort, THE VISITANTS, is set in the neon colored 1950s and chronicles the hi-jinx which ensue following the theft of a ray gun by a teenage boy from his bizarre neighbors who just happen to be aliens who have embedded themselves within a sleepy suburban neighborhood.
Barely seen since their brief theatrical runs, Vinegar Syndrome presents the Blu-ray debuts of these off the wall, home grown pieces of jaw dropping mutant cinema, both newly restored from their 35mm camera negatives.

"Better than a lot of other directors honestly. Not something I will watch again tho"
"Blood Theatre (1984) is the debut film from director Rick Sloane. I thought it was a great debut! Mary Woronov and Joanna Foxx are the highlights. The Visitants (1986) is the better film of the two. Marcus Vaughter, Jordana Capra, Joel Hile and Nicole Rio are all great, but the highlight is William Thomas Dristas as the clueless character Sherwin! Great restorations and extras! I hope VS can also release the 2 Rick Sloane movies starring the great Wings Hauser: Marked for Murder (1989) and Mind, Body and Soul (1992)!"
"Theres just something very charming and comfortable about these early Rick Sloane movies. Blood Theatre in particular- gotta love setting a horror movie in a theater. Also who can hate a movie with Mary Woronov in it, even if shes basically just a glorified cameo."
"You get not one, but two films with this release. Each title cooler than the last. A stunning transfer of each film awaits any eager viewer and there’s also reversible art for each film."
"This is a beautiful film"
"A Rick Sloane double feature so you know what to expect. Blood Theater gets top bill but not sure if that necessarily makes it the “better” film. Oh well, there is enough comedy and insane energy here to make for a good evening of entertainment."
"Manic Energy but good stuff"
"Not high art but a darn fun release! If you enjoyed the goofy charm of 'Hobgoblins' you'll get a kick out of these, plus the solid transfers and fun extras"
"Pair of 80’s mutant horror flicks, dive in !!"
"fun double feature"
