Years have gone by since Molly Stewart (Betsy Russell, Saw 3-7) worked as a teenage prostitute. Now a law student at UCLA, Molly is determined to leave her past behind. But after learning that Lieutenant Andrews, the detective who helped save her life, has been murdered as a result of witnessing a mob related hit, Molly decides its time to return to her old neighborhood to avenge his death. With the help of her surviving friends, Molly quickly finds herself pitted against underworld and mob figures who might be a lot harder to defeat than she’s bargained for…

Reviews

Lesser but still good sequel

"This is the only Angel sequel worth bothering with. It's a solid, well done, mid-80s LA-based sleazy exploitation film. Angel is a bit older and played a bit differently, and interestingly, by Betsy Russell, who gives a good performance. It's still gritty but doesn't quite have the same endearing warmth or heart of the original, partially due to the different, more mature Angel portrayal. Still got a fun 80s soundtrack."

Avenging Angel Blu Ray Review

"This is a pretty fun follow-up to the previous movie. Good looking transfer and has a lot of good special features."

Sean F. (5/5)

First off, I did not

"First off, I did not even know that this was a sequel going in. Second, this was a lot goofier than I anticipated. I kinda enjoyed how ridiculous and bad this was. Big 80s hair and lots of shotguns. Do I have to go back and watch the first one now?"

Justin G. (4/5)

Top Quality Picture as come

"Top Quality Picture as come to expect from VS. Have wanted this series for a long time"

Alan S. (5/5)

Not as fun as the original

"Its a shame they didnt bring back their leading lady seeing as they brought everyone else back. Still a fun film but not as great as its predecessor. Can't do half stars but I rated this a 3. 5. I rated it green - will watch again 💚"

Jace P. (3/5)

Great edition of the angel

"Great edition of the angel sequel, this movie holds up very well to the first film in the series, the slipcover is same quality,"

Will S. (5/5)

First movie might be better

"This is still a solid watch. And she runs IN HEELS"

Shane M. (3/5)

Great sequel

"Great edition of a great movie! Not as great as the first chapter, but still I enjoyed the 80s vibe and the visuals."

Luc T. (4/5)

5 star release, 1 star movie

"This release is as gorgeous as the previous. VS has me hooked and I’m worried I’ll never finally recover from getting into this company and their sub-labels. Connecting covers for front and back options is such an amazing way to add continuity for releases without a full on box set. Maybe a separate display to hold them on in the future could be a fun idea. I love that they take the time to pick movies that would otherwise be overlooked to give them the love they deserve. As for the film itself, oof! How you go from such a heartwarming predecessor, to this slapstick slog is beyond me. They brought back secondary characters and couldn’t bring back the two mains. Least favorite from the trilogy by far."
