Suzanne, a successful realtor living in the suburbs of Washington D.C. with her weatherman husband, Jeff, is on top of the world as she prepares for Christmas, her favorite time of year. Things take a turn, however, when she comes home one day to find her husband brutally murdered. To cope with her overwhelming grief, Suzanne takes off from work at the suggestion of her colleagues. In the ensuing days, she tracks down a young stripper named Fantasia with whom Jeff had a long term relationship, and the two begin to bond over their mutual loss. Through her relationship with Fantasia, Suzanne begins to cut loose, joining the stripper on escapades of drugs, clubbing and shoplifting.

Ho-Ho-Hold the Phone (To Place Your Next Fantastic Holiday Order!)

"If the holidays were a sure-fire way to cure depression by way of consumerism, then let this be the antidote to that rosey-cheeked baloney. As do many of Factory 25’s lineup of films often deal with subverting expectations a little - this one slams it into the proverbial snowbank. While depressing and sometimes a little bleak, it’s still a fascinating take on the Holiday film genre and one that I’d whole-heartedly recommend."

    Online shop till you drop

"Slipcover is my dealer but really it’s a beaut. Shocking death in beginning no surprise she spirals but the connection she makes after that death is not at all too far fetched because the actors are as naturally good as they are. Recommend!"

    Derek T. (4/5)

    Xmas gloom

"A dark comedy with a little bit of gloom but also heartwarming at different pts of the film. People react to grief in different ways and this was definitely one way to cope. Well written and acted, and a scene in the third act that rivals the famous scene in Toni Erdmann."

    Reza S. (5/5)

    White Reindeer

"Not much to feel good about. A 30 year old woman who crashes hard in the face of tragedy. Movie never really provided any sort of positive relief. Kind of a bummer of a story."

Every Christmas-Related Release On This Site

"…I’ve gotta get it. Was worried that this one might be a little too similar to A Christmas Tale, but it brought its own comedy from the seasonal foibles of the under-40 crowd. Things get dark, but you still get that holiday spirit from this film that, honestly, could be watched year-round. Dug the short film included on the disc, too."

    Maxim P. (5/5)

    Merry Christmas?

"Interesting and quirky dark comedy/drama. Takes place at Christmas but is definitely a downer of a movie and when it comes to the comedy put an emphasis on dark. Not the height out loud kind. Good packaging. For extras there is a commentary, some deleted scenes and a short little parody commercial."

    Michael S. (4/5)

    White Reindeer

"Nicely dark and comedic, another movie to add to my Christmas rotation."

    William M. (5/5)

    White Reindeer

"I didn't enjoy this film as much as I thought. This contemporary drama was well shot and lit, however, is very depressing and very middle of the road and bland except for a scene of violence. The acting was fine but nothing amazing. Ok for a one time watch, but not rewatchable in my opinion. Love the slip more than the film."

    Robert H. (2/5)

    Alt X-Mas Pick

"Alt pick for a dark christmas movie. Will have great holiday replay value with how short it is too. darkly funny and love the digital photography."
