Since 2004, Bleeding Skull has explored otherworldly cinema through reviews, books, and home video releases. We shine a light on independent genre films that have flown under the radar but deserve to be seen by all. Fangoria has called Bleeding Skull “The go-to encyclopedia for trash, bizarre, and shot-on-video cinema,” while Vice referred to it as “like a fever dream glimpse into parallel worlds". Closing the gap between dreams and reality, Fabio Salerno's films are the missing link between Dario Argento and George & Mike Kuchar. THE OTHER DIMENSION AND THE FILMS OF FABIO SALERNO is a 2-disc set that presents the late Salerno's complete filmography for the first time in North America. From the accomplished anthology THE OTHER DIMENSION to the fan-favorite short ARPIE, these D.I.Y. arthouse horror films from Italy are true discoveries for adventurous horrorheads.

      Reviews

Made me fall in love with Bleeding Skull

"This was my first VS purchase. I was drawn in by the promise of lo-fi Argentoisms and Salerno’s films hit just right. This is a great deal, jam packed with features and shorts. I’m now collecting all of Bleeding Skull’s releases."

      Andrew P. (5/5)

      Underground Italian horror

"Well, I was sad to learn that director Fabio Salerno at some point had taken his own life. From seeing the films in this collection, he would seem to be a fan of Italian horror who managed to outgrow the extremely low budgets of his film and let his passion shine through. Sure, some of the earliest shorts are nothing more than home video stuff meant as excercises but the 2 longer films are a treasure trove of imagination and gory delights. Bleeding Skull are to be commended for bringing this to our attention as I had never before heard of this man."

      Tim V. (4/5)

      Tyler M. (4/5)

      Beautiful set

"Incredible collection. Loaded with enough material to keep you watching for days. A unique director that should have had a larger audience"

      Paul W. (5/5)

Fabio Salerno short films from BLEEDING SKULL!

"A charming trove of hidden gems from Fabio Salerno. Favorite short film was The Other Dimension. Perfect Argento style lighting with an eerie and surreal atmosphere."

      80's italian horror

"A great collection of short films. Hours of fun."

      Marc-Andre T. (4/5)

      Dario Argento’s Top Guy

"A look into the life and work of Dario Argento’s biggest fan. I chose to watch this set in reverse order. Short films before the features to see Salerno’s growth as a filmmaker. It’s awesome examining that development over the dozen or so shorts here. The best stuff is those handful of shorts between ‘85 and ‘87 where the man did nothing but cook."
