Bizarro is dedicated to unearthing the boldest, most original visions in Spanish cinema—films that are as daring, provocative, and offbeat as they are artistically distinctive. Whether restoring lost cult treasures or bringing overlooked gems to new audiences, Bizarro offers a curated selection for cinephiles craving the unexpected. In Spanish, “Bizarro” means both strange and brave, a name that reflects our commitment to cinema at its most unconventional. Proudly partnering with OCN Distribution, we invite viewers to discover the fearless and extraordinary from Spain’s cinematic underground—restored and celebrated for a new generation.

A publicity stunt gone horribly wrong strands two bikini-clad models in fog-shrouded waters where they encounter a ghostly galleon—the floating tomb of the undead Knights Templar, the Blind Dead. When the models vanish without a trace, a desperate rescue party boards the eerie ship only to find themselves trapped in a supernatural nightmare entwined with satanic cult rituals. Haunted by the sound-hunting, eyeless Templar corpses, the survivors must confront ancient curses and a relentless, otherworldly evil that blurs the boundaries between life and death.

Featuring a captivating cast including Jack Taylor (Pieces, Count Dracula), Maria Perschy (The People Who Own the Dark), and Bárbara Rey (The Night of the Sorcerers), The Ghost Galleon (1974) is the third chilling chapter in the cult Blind Dead saga. Written and directed by visionary Amando de Ossorio, it melds atmospheric Gothic horror with a surreal, dream-like quality and unforgettable undead mythology. Acclaimed by genre devotees for its eerie mood, and widely regarded as the most surprising film in the saga, this 4K restoration from the original camera negative brings the legendary Templar knights back to life—fully uncut and loaded with brand new and archival extras, making it essential viewing for fans of Euro-horror and supernatural terror.

Underappreciated film

"From what I gathered this is the least loved film of the four blind dead quadrilogy and the only one i've seen besides the original but to me it's not far underneath the original. The whole film is covered in a thick dreamlike atmosphere and rocks back and forth between funny and charmingly cheap, and genuinely effectively doom laden and cool. The artwork on both the case and slipcover are also so fucking sick. Having only seen the fiat film and this one, I already declare the blind dead films to be the ultimate doom flicks."

Part of the Blind Dead trilogy

"The 1974 Spanish horror film—also known as El buque maldito or Horror of the Zombies—follows a pair of models who vanish at sea and are later discovered aboard a drifting, fog‑shrouded galleon inhabited by undead Knights Templar. While the premise has strong potential and the ghost‑ship setting provides some genuine atmosphere and claustrophobic tension, reviewers consistently note that the film moves extremely slowly, even compared to the already deliberate pacing of earlier Blind Dead entries."

Great Premise, Bad Execution

"This movie could have been great. It has a great look and premise. The look of the blind dead are awesome as well. It's just really boring. It takes too long for the threat to show up, and there's no fun and a sense of urgency to move the picture in any kind of direction. Slipcover is great on this one though."

The Best It Has Looked

"Well as I understand it, this is certainly the best it has looked. Having never seen it before, I genuinely couldn't say, but it looked amazing to me. I'd only watched The Blind Dead for the first time a couple of weeks before seeing this, so I'm really playing catch up with the series. No doubt influential and very interesting, I can't say they're my favourite movies ever, but they're certainly well worth a watch. Lovely slipcover too, of course."

Sam N. (4/5)

Fantastic upgrade to 4K UHD

"This is a superb upgrade of the third of the Blind Dead films. (I had watched the DVD from my Blind Dead coffin box set again only a few eeeks ago and the contrast between the 2 is very noticeable. ) Great creepy atmosphere, Picture and sound quality are fantastic. I was lucky enough to be able to purchase the slipcover edition - brilliant slipcover artwork."

Andrea M. (5/5)

Beautiful 4K Transfer

"The Ghost Galleon is a slow, eerie entry in the Blind Dead series that leans more on atmosphere than action. Amando de Ossorio creates a haunting sense of isolation aboard the drifting ship, even if the pacing can feel a bit drawn out. It’s a moody, minimalist horror that rewards patience with some genuinely creepy imagery."

Shawn M. (4/5)

Horror at Sea

"Been a fan of Amando de Ossorio for quite some time. The Ghost Galleon gets a lot of flak, and I totally get it. For me, I just appreciate that he worked with what he had. It has its charms here and there. Never expected to see it on 4K UHD, but here we are, and I'm all for it."

Joe Z. (5/5)

Best in the "Blind Dead" Series?

"It's probably my favorite of the three, definitely the most fun to watch. Would love to see Seagulls and Tombs released via VS someday when the rights are available."

Jeff W. (5/5)

The Ghost Galleon

"I haven't seen the others in this series, and the consensus seems to be this is the weakest one. Still, it was a bit tamwr than I was expecting. And the miniature props were clearly miniatures. Some were so small, I didn't realize what they were. I really liked the creepy, final shot."

Drew G. (2/5)

A classic Blind Dead movie

"Not the most well known, or the best, of this series but a very fun movie nonetheless. Not as graphic as you might expect but a fun story and decent production values. A welcome addition to my collection. The Blind Dead series is still a bit underrated. I think this is sold out already but if I'm wrong, be sure to pick one up. It's a fun movie and a decent introduction to the series if you aren't familiar. Recommended."
