Manicured and manipulative, the teenage mother exists in a world defined by petty crime, seduction, sex, fast cars, and suburban mayhem. With her beloved brother Danny in prison for murder and John, her father, concerned about Katrina neglecting the baby, it’s time for the nineteen-year-old to do something… can you really get away with murder?

Suburban Mayhem Soundtrack Composed by Mick Harvey
"Suburban Mayhem is a nasty little blast of Australian crime comedy, built around chaos, bad choices, and a lead character who is both awful and impossible to look away from. It has a trashy tabloid energy that makes the whole thing feel messy, mean, and weirdly entertaining."
— Shane P. (5/5)
Fun Aussie film
"You could consider this a very dark comedy I suppose. It's hard to sympathize with the lead given she's pretty much evil. The actress gives a charismatic performance. Not someone you really want to win, but neither is anyone else in the movie. Wanted to check this out primarily because of Mia Wasikowska. She seemed poised to be a big star with Alice in Wonderland, Crimson Peak, and Stoker. Haven't seen her in anything in quite a while. She has a pretty minor part here as someone treated horribly by the main character. Strong To Die For vibes in this one. Tons of interviews for extras. A great release of a pretty good movie."

I Love This One!
"While perusing my favorite website, I noticed this really awesome slipcover, which drew me in, as is often the case with the slipcover kings, VS! I have always loved this film, and it looks tremendous with this new restoration!"
— Paul K. (5/5)
Strange Movie
"Strange movie but excellent audio and video restoration. Moments are a blast but the real cool part of this release is all the features that manage to put the movie into a bit of perspective."
— Andrew I. (3/5)

Trouble on the Doorstep
"Suburban Mayhem is the kind of oddball crime drama that feels like it wandered in from the wrong neighborhood and decided to stay. It follows a young woman who stirs up chaos with a mix of charm, recklessness, and a total lack of concern for the damage she leaves behind. The film has a sly, slightly off‑kilter tone, the sort that makes you wonder whether you should be laughing, cringing, or both. It is messy in a very human way, which is part of its appeal. The release gives the movie a clean, steady presentation that suits its mix of dark humor and low‑key tension. The transfer brings out the suburban color palette without making it look too polished, and the grain sits naturally on the image. Audio is crisp and easy to follow, letting the performances land without distraction. The extras round things out nicely, offering context for a film that never quite fit into a neat category. For collectors who enjoy character‑driven oddities and stories about people making spectacularly bad choices, this release hits the spot. It is a small film with a sharp edge."
— Jimmy W. (5/5)
