    Moody Thriller

"Directed by Antonio Campos, the film follows Simon (Brady Corbet), a recent college graduate who travels to Paris after a breakup. He becomes involved with a prostitute (Mati Diop), but beneath his quiet exterior lies a manipulative and increasingly violent nature. The ominous title sets the tone, leaving viewers to question whether Simon’s darkness is inevitable or merely suggested. Simon Killer is not a conventional thriller but a moody, unsettling portrait of manipulation and violence. It’s beautifully shot yet emotionally brutal, appealing to those who appreciate ambiguous, character-driven cinema rather than straightforward storytelling."

    Love this film starring Corbet

"Love this film starring Corbet before he went strictly behind the camera. Campos is an acquired taste, however."

    Good

"Mati Diop and Brady Corbet in a film? I’m in!"

    Mark B. (4/5)

    The Good Kind of Uncomfortable

"Movie: This made me anxious for most of the runtime. I recognized things I'd rather not remember about myself as a young man, amplified by a protagonist who keeps digging the hole he's in deeper and deeper, seemingly mostly soberly too. He seems like such a bundle of red flags that it's hard to see how any women like him at all, but the sex scenes were surprisingly hot, so maybe that's enough. Shout out to the soundtrack for having some real bangers I'd never heard before. Extras: I really loved The Case of the Curious Camera; very unique in terms of these things. The BTS stuff was also edited in an interesting way. Book: The essay did a great job explaining in words how the film worked effectively. Packaging: The cover design is great (even if it isn't reversible). The slip cover looks even better."

    Gideon M. (5/5)

    A very good movie

"Very effective movie. Much like its sociopathic main character, it creeps on you."

    Fabrice B. (5/5)

    Minimal plot, but still intriguing

"I thought Simon Killer was entertaining, but just okay. I kept expecting something more would happen. I cannot get the sing from the film and blu-ray opening out of my head. I like it."
