Inspector Ike, New York City’s greatest police detective, finds himself in a high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse after the conniving understudy of an avant-garde theater group knocks off the star actor. A “lost TV movie” from the 1970’s, INSPECTOR IKE mixes visual gags, slapstick, gross food, and heartfelt emotion. Think COLUMBO meets THE NAKED GUN, featuring a rogue's gallery of NYC's best comedians.

Reviews

Unique and funny

"Inspector Ike is charming and funny and leans WAY into its schtick including a mid-movie chili recipe. The kind of bizarre, dry comedy style reminded me a little bit of something David Wain, Michael Showalter, and Michael Ian Black would do."

Jon B. (5/5)

Didn’t enjoy this one as

"Didn’t enjoy this one as much as I had expected. Might just not have been in the right mood though as there sledge definitely some elements that really worked. Love the slipcover and artwork though, while the extras were just okay."

Kyle C. (2/5)

A fun parody of TV detective shows

"I enjoyed this parody of seventies TV detective show, such as Columbo."

Richard W. (3/5)

Hip hip!

"I was introduced to Ikechukwu Ufomadu through his hilarious short series Words With Ike, which aired as part of the alt-comedy block CAKE on FX. Getting to spend 83 minutes with him in a note-perfect Columbo send-up, complete with appearances from every NY comic you've ever seen on Instagram, was a treat. (Also every episode of Words With Ike is on here!)"

Devin D. (5/5)

Murder Most Mild

"A loving spoof of 1970s TV detective dramas, Inspector Ike is a low-budget gem that plays its absurdity straight. Ike himself—stoic, soft-spoken, and perpetually munching on a hard-boiled egg—is the kind of hero who solves crimes with kindness and a clipboard. The film’s deadpan humor, theatrical staging, and delightfully odd ensemble cast make it feel like a community theater production of Columbo directed by Wes Anderson’s goofier cousin. It’s not just a parody—it’s a valentine to a bygone genre, cracked and scrambled just right."

Jimmy W. (5/5)

Just One More Thing . . .

"Words fail with this utterly bonkers, charming release. Laid back but still bizarre, the release includes a few nice features that make it worthwhile for any fans of the classic ZAZ work"

William Z. (5/5)

Best of the best

"Inspector Ike fucking rules. I would watch a million more Inspector Ike stories. and the special features on this blu-ray make it a MUST own."

Teegan M. (5/5)

Inspector Ike

"Unusual 70’s comedy"

Aaron P. (4/5)

Great future classic

"Funny detective spoof."

Mike R. (5/5)

Fun comic riff on the police procedural

"An entertaining flick that's both a parody and a homage of classic TV crime procedurals like Columbo and Kojak. Inspector Ike is on a case and he doesn't fall to elicit a chuckle or few. Comes with a handful of extras including brief musings by Ike, a booklet and recipe card."
