Factory 25, a Brooklyn-based independent film distribution company was founded in 2009 by Matt Grady. F25 is a home for conceptually provocative narratives and documentaries. Its mission is to deliver specialized film and music titles in an aesthetically captivating way while exposing the indie world to under-the-radar films, music, and other curiosities in various ways and formats — theatrically, digitally, on TV, VOD, via subscription, limited edition DVDs, Blu-ray's, books and vinyl. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!
Marnie is 23 and "wandering the earth,” perhaps in search of romance, or employment - or perhaps just avoiding both. Mostly she's just trying to keep her sense of humor as a constellation of friends and would-be lovers engage in their own post-collegiate flailing around her. Rarely have the loose, shaggy rambles of young adulthood felt so alive and uncanny onscreen. Shot on 16mm and originally released in 2002, Funny Ha Ha is a simple film, straightforwardly composed, but its peculiar rhythms and unexpected cross-currents will always reward repeat viewings.

"Effortless comedy is a pleasure to watch"
"One of the best mumblecore movies."
"This one did not turn out to be for me but I do see on the back it specifically says that it "will always rewards repeat viewings", so perhaps I need to revisit it again someday. In any event I can appreciate that it was well-made, and I have no doubt that lots of people will love it. The packaging and presentation are excellent, and there is an essay included written by Chuck Klosterman, who is probably one of the more famous writers to provide a supplemental essay for an obscure movie that I've bought."
"is alive in Funny Ha Ha. way ahead of its time"
"Finally seeing the original mumblecore!"
"The blueprint for mumblecore, but it never feels like a prototype. Bujalski captures post-grad drift with a gentle, observational wit. Extras are generous, and the restoration keeps that lo-fi charm intact. It’s funny. . . ha ha."
"Such a great, funny, humble first film. Ramshackle all the way, but never boring. Very recommend for lovers of quirky comedy and early-2000s slice-of-life indies. (I include a photo of me meeting Andrew Bujalski a few weeks ago after a local 35mm screening of Funny Ha Ha)"
"This is an awkward kind of comedy that I enjoyed. Reminds me of Shiva Baby and Frances Ha but not on that level of quality, like a level lower."
"A great mumblecore classic. Not much on extras but it’s still a definitive release. The slipcover is nice and what I’d expect from Factory 25."
"Great packaging, great movie, quick and easy delivery"
