Reviews

Tense thriller

"This release is a tense, taught erotic thriller that explores sexuality and identity. Great acting, suspenseful cinematography. Centers on a game of car and mouse after a vicious attack. Comes with a few cool extras."

Kresh R. (4/5)

Awesome Addition

"Had my eye on this one for a long while, so very happy to finally pick it up. I didn’t disappoint"

Bran T. (5/5)

Drag Revenge.

"John Waters top ten brought me here! Thriller that's very well directed and scripted."

Richard L. (5/5)

Must watch.

"This L. E slipcover release is amazing. The cinematography and drama is superb."

Guillermo M. (5/5)

Exceptional Queer Erotic Thriller

"If you love exceptional acting, a loving portrayal of queer culture, complex questions of identity and revenge, and some genuinely awful tattoo makeup effects (sorry to that team, you did try!), this really is a wonderful release of a movie that I can't quite shake."

Riley M. (5/5)

Spectacular! Essential viewing.

"This was my #2 favorite movie of 2024. I absolutely loved it. It's a spectacular film from start to finish. The movie deals with internalized homophobia in a way you don't normally see in films today. It's brilliant social commentary. It's also an intriguing revenge film. . . one where you don't know exactly where it's headed. I love a movie that keeps you surprised and guessing. With wonderful performance from the two lead actors, especially George MacKay. I can't recommend this enough."

Steven M. (5/5)

Powerhouse performances

"Great performances in this gut punch of a movie. There’s a sense of dread permeating throughout the entire film. Part thriller, part revenge flick, maybe a bit of romance(?), this one is hard to classify, but it was a nonstop entertaining watch."

Brennan B. (4/5)

Powerful Movie

"* Transfer of this movie is decent not top stuff. * Slip cover is beautiful and matches with movie story. * Story of the movie was pretty good and enjoyed watching it."

PARBHAT K. (5/5)

Excellent film

"Powerhouse of a film. Absolutely delivers on its very strong premise but does so in a way that was so much deeper, poignant and heart breaking than I could have imagined."

Sam R. (5/5)

Femme

"A tense and stylish revenge thriller with a fresh perspective, Femme is a bold debut from co-directors Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping. Set in London’s queer nightlife and gritty underground, the film follows Jules (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett), a drag performer who suffers a brutal homophobic attack—and later finds his attacker in an unexpected setting, sparking a dangerous game of identity, desire, and power. The Blu-ray presentation is crisp and vibrant, preserving the film’s neon-soaked visuals and moody atmosphere. The sound design—so crucial to its suspense—is equally well-handled, especially during moments of escalating psychological tension. Stewart-Jarrett delivers a nuanced performance, balancing vulnerability and controlled rage, while George MacKay is disturbingly convincing as the deeply conflicted antagonist. The disc includes a solid making-of featurette and a commentary track that provides insight into the film’s exploration of masculinity, queerness, and vengeance. Femme doesn’t reinvent the revenge genre, but it revitalizes it with a sharp queer lens and sleek execution. This Blu-ray release does justice to one of the more provocative and quietly powerful thrillers of recent years."
