"Highly recommended for the cinematography, story and acting. Blind by and I was pleasantly surprised."
"Ferrin's films are usually all over the place for me. Sometimes I really dig them and sometimes I hate them, and sometimes it's the same exact shit that makes me swing one way or another as it'll work for me in one film but not the next. I don't know. This is one of his weirdest, probably, as it never really seems to find a justification for its existence. The story amounts to exactly nothing, especially with the most blown out twist ending trope in history, but it's peculiar enough that I could find passing entertainment with it. One thing I do appreciate about Ferrin is stocking his films with solid character actors and allowing them to explore just about any eccentricity they could want, with Noah Segan running with that ball nicely here."
"You get two awesome Chad Ferrin films on one disc, complete with special features! The only downside is "Someone's Knocking At The Door" appears to be slightly censored in certain scenes."
"Both Someone’s Knocking at the Door and The Deep Ones are seriously underrated Lovecraft-inspired oddities that deserve more late-night love. They’re messy, moody, and unapologetically weird, but that offbeat cosmic dread and grimy atmosphere are exactly what make them stick with you."
"Someone’s Knocking: I mean…I guess it’s kinda funny? In a weird way? The Deep Ones: I just want one good lovecraft film, please I’m begging Great presentation from Vin Syn though!"
"Two ambitious movies done on small budgets . I highly recommend checking out all Chad Ferrin’s other films a number of which are for available on this site. Bonus Kelli Maroney makes an appearance in The Old Ones"
"This double bill of fright flicks features tales to fill your head with dread."
"One oddity here. Someone's Knocking was out on blu-ray before in BD-R format. I have that one and it has a few extras, including commentaries, that aren't here. Not sure why some extras were carried over and others not. Some really disturbing and very unique scenes in SKatD. Not up enough to comment how Lovecraft accurate the other is. It's a decent film but clearly very low budget. I suspect some fans will say too much so to do justice to the source material, but I don't really know enough about Lovecraft's work to comment. Both films do a lot with what they have. Nudity and decent effects are almost always enough to hold my interest. A lot for the money in this package. Recommended."
"Man it's nice getting a beautiful remastered copy of Someone's Knocking At My Door. Got this many years ago on a shitty bootleg DVD and now I can see and hear everything properly. Chad Ferrin did a great job. So happy it's paired with another one of his flicks. Great value."
"This is a decent double bill. I’d definitely grab it bc both of these films are kind of bonkers and worth owning physically. If you’re into horror they are a great addition. Packaging and presentation are excellent."
