Saturn's Core Audio & Video is a New Jersey based home video label devoted to releasing underground oddities and shot on video cinema on VHS, and now, blu-ray discs! In partnership with OCN Distribution, Saturn's Core will exhume forgotten or under-seen genre cinema from the 80s and 90s, with an emphasis on SOV horror features. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!

Mark’s wife has tragically passed away in a fatal automobile accident. After the funeral, his close friends agree to convene at his lakeside abode for the weekend to support their friend in his time of grief. Soon after arriving, the tumultuous relationships between the various couples begin to bubble to the surface and a mysterious tool-wielding, black-gloved killer begins butchering the visitors one by one. It’s The Big Chill meets Curtains in Savage Vows: one the quintessential ‘90s regional SOV slasher epics notable for its grisly, homespun practical gore FX, its pulsing synth score, and a smattering of scenes shot in the insanely stocked horror section of Full Moon Video, a regional mom and pop video store in Pennsylvania that was owned by the director at the time of production.

The sole directorial effort by frequent Polonia Brothers actor and collaborator Bob Dennis, Savage Vows is both a disquieting, neon analog nightmare and a singular (and strangely cozy) Polonia-adjacent hangout slasher. A backyard sprinkler of blood splattering madness featuring acting performance by pioneering SOV legend Mark Polonia (Splatter Farm, Feeders), director Bob Dennis (Bad Magic, Terror House), and prolific fetish model and performer Kelly Ashton, Saturn’s Core is proud to present Savage Vows on special edition Blu-Ray accompanied by new contextual featurettes and commentaries with the cast and crew.

Great SOV from horror movie enthusiasts

"If you appreciate nostalgic low budget 90’s gore with fun quirky kills and crazy characters who are chatty and twist ending then you will enjoy this borrowing of different high profile horror movies with more order."

Timothy D. (5/5)

Fun SOV horror thriller

"I think this is the first Polonia Brothers adjacent film to hit Saturn's Core. They're pretty central figures, so it's nice to see. This is not exactly a pleasure to look at or a tightly plotted masterpiece. But it's fun and that's all I want from my SOV movies. The plot might not make a lot of sense but at least there's a twist that doesn't make a lot of sense. Even at 70 some minutes a fair amount of padding (wandering around by characters and camera). But lots of fun anyway."

Ed K. (5/5)

Savage Vows

"I’m really happy with the Saturns Core Audio & Video line. They’ve been consistently dropping low-tier slasher gems and this one is one of the best of the bunch. Highly recommended! Packaging and presentation are excellent!"

Matt R. (5/5)

Be Kind, Rewind. . . and Bleed

"A scrappy shot-on-video slasher that works best as a time capsule of ‘90s video store culture, this Polonia-adjacent curio drifts through synth-soaked atmosphere, hangout-style pacing, and DIY gore with more sincerity than skill. The plot meanders and the performances wobble, but touches of giallo-inspired staging and an oddly compelling sense of place, especially the extended video store sequence, give it a lingering charm. Uneven and sluggish, yet endearing as both horror oddity and cultural artifact."

Mitchell C. (4/5)

Fred Savage Vows

"Not especially strange, but it did cause me to vow to never watch it again."

Andrew N. (5/5)

Great

"After Mark loses his wife in a horrible car crash, six of his closest friends stay at his house for the weekend to help console him. Instead, they find themselves fighting for their lives."

Sebastian V. (5/5)
