    Manly man and swords

"Barbarians: From Conan to He-Man is a fun and easy read about how barbarians show up in pop culture, from Conan the Barbarian to He-Man. It’s interesting without being too heavy. It’s translated from French, and as a native French speaker, I found the translation really solid and natural. Ps. Shout out to the lady with four boobs on the poster of The warrior and the sorceress"

    Well written, lavishly illustrated

"A great overview of the Conan ripoffs that followed, and one or two that preceded, the release of the original Conan film. There is a thin line between peplum and barbarian cinema. It's kind of hard to differentiate in a few cases here, but these are basically the sword and sorcery pics from the 80's. Each has tons of photos and an interesting well written discussion of each film's plot and production. Great as a resource or sit down read. Highly recommended."
