"The disc and presentation are, as usual, fine. The documentary itself is not great and could use some serious editing. We spend way too much time as a fly on the wall watching Sabu get high, argue with his girlfriend, etc. There must be half a dozen scenes of him just getting out of bed, where one such scene would have made the point. His life and career are covered pretty superficially. Overall the movie is interesting at times, but there are not enough of those times."
"I'll watch any wrestling documentary and Sabu is one of the more interesting wrestlers. Great doc."
"I normally don’t write reviews…. . I leave that to the “professionals” but I will say this one hit me hard. The emotional effect it took on Sabu was really sad, this wad an amazing documentary that wasn’t really a documentary. I hope people read this and really enjoy this documentary."

"Sabu directed by Joe Clarke is a fascinating and at times heartbreaking look at Sabu, especially seeing how much he unraveled following the death of his wife. I do wish the documentary spent more time having other wrestlers discuss his influence and legacy, because Sabu was easily the biggest and most influential independent wrestler of the 1990s and helped shape an entire style that still exists today."
"Sabu is still an interesting watch for fans of Sabu, especially seeing where he is later in life, but it feels a little disappointing in how much of his career it skips over. The documentary touches on some major moments from ECW and hardcore wrestling history, but it never really dives deep enough into his past, influences, or the peak years that made him such a legend. A lot of it feels surface level when there was clearly a much more fascinating story waiting to be told. It’s worth watching for longtime wrestling fans, but it leaves you wishing it explored his history in a much more detailed way."
"I expected this to be a bit more of a career and life retrospective. We get a bit of his background and history, but mostly its just a day in the life kind of thing in what turned out to be his very last days. The footage from his final match is the most interesting. Would have like a bit more wrestling. Touches on a lot of his issues without really getting in depth in any of them. OK but I wish we had some more interview material and a bit more of an in depth look at his career."
