VS spoiling us with all the Asia Argento!
"Having this and the last mistress released in quick succession is a real treat as an Asia Argento fan! Go-Go Tales next, please. Annoyed to miss the slip cover on this one, that seemed to sell out in record time, I suspect there may be a variant to follow, but I don’t want to splash out on the cost of the disc a second time. It would be really good of VS to print variant slips when they happen that can be sold individually for the people that supported the initial release but were able to get the slip first time around."

Underrated Assayas gem
"Of all the Olivier Assayas films I've seen, this seems to be the one that grows in stature the most with each viewing. A spiritual sequel to his superb psychosexual cyber-noir 'Demonlover' - if anything, I like 'Boarding Gate' even more than that movie (which is a lot). Asia Argento is amazing. And this movie freaking owns."

Asia is a goddess
"Boarding Gate by Olivier Assayas is a slick, paranoid thriller that mixes corporate espionage, crime, and psychological tension into something stylish and unpredictable. The atmosphere and cinematography are fantastic throughout, and the film really benefits from Assayas’ ability to make even chaotic situations feel hypnotic and cool."
— Shane P. (5/5)
A Frenetic Movie
"A highly disjointed, erotically, emotionally, and sexually charged movie that defies analysis, but it has one huge plus: it stars Asia Argento. A nicely transferred movie (much better than streaming) that has Asia Argento (who looks great at 50) in a nearly 30 minute interview probably shot in 2025."

A Stylish Thriller with Strong Performances
"Boarding Gate is a stylish, slow-burning thriller that thrives on mood and tension rather than nonstop action. The performances are the film’s biggest strength, with the cast bringing a cool, restrained intensity that keeps the shifting relationships engaging and unpredictable. The overall feel is sleek and atmospheric. Director Olivier Assayas creates an international backdrop that gives the film a distinctive sense of unease, blending espionage, crime, and psychological drama into something that feels both modern and noir-inspired. The presentation is excellent. The transfer looks sharp, with natural colors and strong detail that complement the film’s polished visual style. Everything feels thoughtfully produced, making it easy to appreciate the cinematography and subtle performances. Overall, this is a sophisticated thriller that rewards viewers looking for atmosphere, strong performances, and understated suspense."

Assayas thriller
"“Boarding Gate” is a sleek but uneven neo‑noir thriller elevated by Asia Argento’s intense performance, even as its pacing and narrative focus divide critics. Olivier Assayas’ 2007 film follows Sandra, an ex‑prostitute entangled with a volatile former lover (Michael Madsen) and a dangerous Hong Kong power couple. The story moves between sexual manipulation, corporate intrigue, and underworld violence, creating a moody, globe‑trotting thriller."

Great Asia Argento thriller
"VinSyn and partner labels continuing quest to release every Asia Argento movie. This is one of the better known ones I think. I've had the DVD for 15 or 20 years. It, like this release, has some eye catching visuals on it. It is not as salacious as the art would suggest. Some exploitation content but not as much as you'd expect. A decent little thriller with great cast, mostly in English which is a plus for me. A great interview with Asia is the best of the extras. I've long been a fan so it's nice to see her getting her due with this string of releases. Recommended."

"Asia, Michael, and even the great Kim Gordon. . . an absolute must buy. Great thriller, great transfer, and great packaging."
