“We were the product!” They were loud. They were dangerous. They were fabulous. Called Blitz Kids and Peacock Punks by a confused tabloid press, a new class of proudly out and outre youths changed the face of London in the 1970s and 1980s. Faced with a repressive, traditional, and colorless UK, a group of misfits refashioned society in a more beautiful and strange image. From acclaimed documentarian Kevin Hegge comes TRAMPS! the story of the kids that would come to be called the New Romantics, who used music, art, fashion, and film to create a revolutionary new London scene.
With testimony from legendary personalities Judy Blame, Princess Julia, Andrew Logan, John Maybury, and Michael Costiff among others TRAMPS! pieces together a history of the people responsible for turning London from a post-war ruin into a teeming site of creativity, love, and rebellion through style. Electric testimony, invaluable archival material, and gorgeous outfits fuse to tell the story of a freely queer time of discovery and destruction with appearances by Leigh Bowery, Derek Jarman, The Sex Pistols, Siouxsie Sioux, Boy George, and more.
Dekanalog is proud to present this special, limited edition Blu-ray of this essential document of broken boundaries, a touching homage to departed luminaries, and a killer party all in one package.

"Fascinating documentary form the post punk New Romantic scene in the UK, lots of familiar names and faces and a real piece of history documented. Great slipcover and extras, the result? A solid package."
"I picked this up on sale and wasn't sure what to expect. Boy George was the only one mentioned in this doc that I knew. Turns out he's the least interesting person in the movie. A mix of art and self expression, it could get extreme, but was never dull. The name New Romantics doesn't give you much of a picture of it all. Even if you knew nothing of the period, you will be engrossed from the start in this documentary. Repressive times often trigger cool art and stylistic revolutions. I guess we're due for another. No way it will be as unique as this one. More's the pity. Highly recommended."
"Purchased during the big sale at the start of the year - amazing packaging and the slipcover is wonderful. Very excited to pop this in!"
"I love documentaries on music and "scenes" of this era as I was an infant at the time and love the music and style during that time. All the contributors were interesting although I wish the makers were able to nab Boy George and Sioux Sioux as the footage of them left me wanting to hear of their personal experiences."
"Top notch documentary with decent extras. Very nice slipcover with a solid transfer."
"Love the slip"
"Good documentary with a great slipcover"
"Seeming to live in a pocket universe running parallel to the Glam, Punk, Post-Punk and Synth-pop eras, the New Romantics were a mob of free, fashionable, fabulous oddballs who lived in squatted buildings, existed almost without money, while looking like they most opulent fashionistas on the planet. Because they were. And are. This documentary is a party, a snapshot, a framework for living, and an eye into a wholly different path to walk through this world, one that guaranteed nothing but a hand-to-mouth existence, and whose only certainty was that you got to wake up every day that you had left and use that day create art and beauty and present it to the world. You weren't guaranteed acceptance for your art (though many of them became world-famous for a time), or that the final result of your hard work will always be artistic or beautiful, but you can always be guaranteed that there will be work for your hands to do. A subculture I knew next to nothing about, amply explained in feature and supplements, by this extraordinary Dekanalog release."
"Gorgeous and important film, a la Paris is Burning!"
