They took his money, family, and hands—but they can’t take his revenge. Exploding from the same hallucinogenic netherworld as TURKISH STAR WARS, THE SWORD AND THE CLAW is a Turkish action-fantasy spectacle that stars genre legend Cüneyt Arkin in his most iconic role. Distributed in North America by exploitation maestro William Mishkin, this movie contains more lo-fi bloodshed, pop-art visuals, and bizarro dubbing than the boundaries of reality can handle.

Reviews

Sword and claw type ish

"Fantastic flick, as ive been digging deeper into turkish cinema this scratches an itch, seeing the lead across other movies gives me such a scale. The plot is so so, the action is good good. Love the bonus movie too!"

David C. (5/5)

My first Turkish cinema doesn't disappoint

"Basically Turkish Sangkuriang. A fun medieval adventure seemingly set in an alternate reality where the Turks are plucky rebels against the Byzantines. The fight choreography and stunts in this are very well done. The bit battle at the end is a delight. The music is so out of place it swings around to being endearing. Loved how brutal some of the kill are: the titular Lion Man is shredding faces all over the place"

Michael G. (4/5)

Who’s Lion Man?

"He’s the son of Solomon and was raised by lions. The film transfer is as sharp as lion man’s claws. The badly dubbed English, reuse of some fight scenes with surprisingly well choreography and bloody violence adds to the charm of this Turkish B-movie Definitely would recommend The Sword and the claw."

Jason C. (5/5)

Grindhouse kungfu action

"Forget the plot, it is wacky and fun and plenty of actions! Great restoration and a full movie as an extra, what more can you ask for."

CHAN T. (5/5)

Great restoration and slipcover of

"Great restoration and slipcover of a bizarre gem with insane moments of action. If you like crazy action movies there's no reason to add this one to your collection."

JD C. (5/5)

Super low-budget import

"Oddball import. It's one of those films that It's so bad it's good. I was scratching my head wondering how the cast and crew thought this was going to be good. Looks like something a 10 year old would have made with his Super 8 camera."

Nicholas C. (2/5)

The Boys & Gals at AGFA Have Done It Again

"Another wild ride from AGFA. It’s a super cheesy flick that I enjoyed from start to finish. Some excellent special features too. I highly recommend this release."

Jeffrey L. (4/5)

More AGFA Gold

Perfection

"Genuinely burst out laughing multiple times. Serves as a good reminder to install gymnastics equipment in your castle on the off chance you need to gymkata some fools some day."

Tyler M. (5/5)

Turkish superhero action adventure!

"Turkish superhero action adventure! The royal heir uses his beastly strength and claw-like hands to take revenge against the new king and his armies."
