Powerful First Release for Watermelon Pictures

"I knew I had to grab a copy of this one when it became available on VS. I'm excited to see what Watermelon Pictures has in store if this is where they start. This is a powerful documentary that covers a conversation often obfuscated by mainstream media. Here, the voices are presented clear and as they stand."

    Vital

"A powerful account of the 2024 campus protests for Palestine led by the students of Columbia University. Rather playful in the edit, particularly at the beginning where various Zionist pundits smear the Gaza Solidarity Encampment as a hellscape of anti-Semitism cutting to a student in the encampment adjusting his kippah. Of course, the smugness in challenging such fearmongering is superficial at the end of it as the conservative and liberal Zionists and fellow colonial powers who stoke that fear unfortunately have more power in their false words. Even so, this loud and proud dissent cannot be ignored. And to think that there were people practically begging for a Kent State style crackdown on the encampment. If that worst case scenario did happen, I can only wonder how many slaughtered students would've been Jewish."

    Great film!

"Students flooded Columbia University's lawn to create the Gaza Solidarity Encampment in order to pressure their university to divest from the US and Israeli weapons companies."
