You Dirty Birdie!

"Gorgeous looking, if sometimes baffling, religious drama. Don't go into it expecting jump scares and all that shenanigans. It gets under your skin and lurks. I enjoyed it. Great disc, good extras, gorgeous slip. Nice :)"

Steven A. (4/5)

Coming of age via trauma

"Went into this cold,. . reminds me in an abstract way of dark/dead waters given the atmospheric covenant location. Maybe seen in comparison to Raw, Excision, Blackcoats Daughter, and Reflecting Skin as a coming of age flick via trauma and mental illness. Nice visuals and sound design."

Renald R. (5/5)

Dark, moody. Stunning edition.

Mika V. (3/5)

Slow, Beautiful.

"This release is beautiful. The film is somewhat slow, but the cinematography is excellent, the locations, acting, and direction. are all quite fine. The slipcover is top-notch, as is the entire release with plenty of extra features. A+++!"

Ben. Z. (5/5)

A Bloody Book!

"While watching the documentary on the disc, I found it amazing that director Elizabeth Schuch was able to pull off this production with such a small budget! This is an art film for sure, so if you enjoy experimental art horror films check this one out. Basically the film is a character study of the neurodivergent teenager Birdie and how she views reality - and how that affects those around her in the convent she's been sent to. Ilirida Memedovski as Birdie gives an amazing performance that carries the film. There are ghosts, lots of blood, and you'll be wondering where this is going right up to the end. Atmospheric, bloody, sometimes shocking, Book of Birdie is a great art horror film, making Ilirida Memedovski a director to watch. Nice to see how loaded with solid extras this release is as well, so if you enjoy the film you can delve deeper into the creation and the meaning of the movie."

Joe O. (4/5)

Real Life Horror

"Abeautiful film made with limited means, but don´t get fooled, it looks way more. Performances are great, especially Ilirida Memedovski as Birdie. I had no idea what was in store as I just watched without knowing what it was about. It took a while to understand what was going on, real horror when the truth dawned on me. Effective in a humdrum roll of everyday. Humans adapt. Looked and sounded great. Very highly recommended."

ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO BUY

"ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO BUY GREAT TITLES AND EXCELLENT PICTURE QUALITY AND ART WORK"

MICHAEL T. (5/5)

Beautiful Cinematography

"The Book of Birdie is a hauntingly beautiful exploration of faith, mental illness, and identity through the lens of gothic surrealism. Director Elizabeth E. Schuch crafts a visually arresting film, with ethereal cinematography that evokes a dreamlike, almost sacred atmosphere. Ilirida Memedovski shines as Birdie, delivering a mesmerizing performance that balances fragility and quiet strength. While the film’s abstract narrative may alienate some viewers, its poetic imagery and emotional depth leave a lasting impression on those who embrace its enigmatic storytelling."

Shawn M. (4/5)
