Reviews

Falling for a succubus

"Great restoration of an entertaining demonic romance flick. Very decent performances from the cast and an interesting storyline where I want sure what was going on until the end. Handful of extra features and nifty packaging."

Kresh R. (3/5)

Sweet Sweet Lonely Girl

"A slow burn that could’ve kept its main character more subtle. These types of stories are almost ALWAYS better when the characters are left to be an open book and interpreted by the audience. When these types of main characters are shown to be definitively “this” or “that,” a certain sect of the audience will be put off. Such was the case here. Nice “horror” stuff in the last five minutes (could’ve used a bit more of that peppered throughout), but overall bland execution."

Shawn J. (3/5)

Even if I knew my place, should I leave it there? Should I give up? Or should I just keep chasing pavements?

"The languid pace rewards patience with an intense finale. The look of "Sweet Sweet Lonely Girl" reminds me of "Let's Scare Jessica to Death," which makes some sense as they were both filmed in Connecticut. I've never been to Connecticut, so these two films pretty much inform my idea of what Connecticut is, which is to say, a dangerous place for lonely girls."

Will D. (3/5)

Lots of Atmosphere

"Excellent slow burn horror drama that packs a punch at the end. Loved the vibe."

Jeffrey L. (4/5)

Interesting

"I like the look of the film and the two girls held my attention. Still seemed to be missing a little something though. . ."

Vincent P. (3/5)

"I loved it. Great performances and looked awesome."

Hansi L. (5/5)

I Really Like This Movie!

"The performances on this particular release are all very good! The movie kept me interested from beginning to end and I really enjoyed it thoroughly! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"

Paul K. (5/5)

Repressed sexuality haunts

"This is almost in the vein of Let’s Scare Jessica To Death in its depiction of a Northeastern fall. The combination of repressed sexuality and eerie ghostly imagery is interesting if not fully fleshed out. This is definitely beautiful to look at."

Brent B. (4/5)

Sweet Sweet Lonely Girl

"This is a cool indie horror movie."

Brian W. (5/5)

Good film

"Good tale, I enjoyed it with decent performances and nice release"
