"If you like folk horror, you'll like this. I know I did."
"So glad I picked this one up. Great modern take on the quintessential British folk horror of the 70s. Artwork really nails it, for an unsettling film about the veracity of rural rituals."
"Appreciate the lowkey folk horror!"
"A different take on folk horror"
"Creepy and engaging folk horror film, no issues with the disc or the shipping process."
"When a low-stock wishlist item goes on sale, that's when I pounce. I'd seen Starve Acre when it first dropped on Shudder so I knew what I was in for. I got so much more out of it on a second viewing. What begins as a tragic family drama in the Northern England countryside, slowly boils into an incredibly disturbing folk horror freakout. The score is beautiful yet unsettling and the performances are excellent all around. This was my first Brainstorm purchase and the quality is worthy of its VS partnership. The slip design is gorgeous and evocative and there are plenty of extras, as well as a beautifully illustrated booklet and essay. Slip copies are still available. This one's a keeper."
"Great transfer and package"
"I viewed this film on the Starve Acre Brainstorm Media Blu-ray Limited Edition physical media released through Vinegar Syndrome and it is the same great premium level of packaging and presentation that you’ve come to expect from the generic releases of this boutique label. No other brand beats Vinegar Syndrome at the cardboard game and this great slipcover is no exception to the consistently fantastic artwork and component quality this company produces. "Ain't a doctor around to fix it. Just a former doctor."
