This Flick Was the Cats Meow!

"The slipcover of this really good flick was awesome, as always with anything VS releases! The film was very interesting and engaging and a fine addition to my exhaustive VS library! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"

      Off Kilter Comedy

"She’s Allergic to Cats is a scrappy, surreal, and deliberately abrasive oddball of a film — the kind of micro‑budget experiment that will either repel you in minutes or hypnotize you with its lo‑fi charm. Built from glitchy analog video textures and a story that drifts between romance, horror, and art‑school fever dream, it follows a lonely Hollywood dog groomer whose life unravels after he meets the woman he’s convinced is “the one. ” The film’s chaotic visual style and off‑kilter humor are its defining traits, creating an experience that feels intentionally unstable and deeply personal."

      Cool vibes and atmosphere, enough

"Cool vibes and atmosphere, enough that I would highly recommend this if you dig the synopsis or the trailer."

      Matthew P. (4/5)

You had me at "socially awkward"

"This was an impulse buy. The slipcover is nice. Everything is nice. I'm hoping this film will help me gain confidence with modern dating for aging artistic recalcitrants. The public library wasn't much help."

      Syn S. (5/5)

      Modern horror comedy

"Very 2016 energy (in the best way)"

      Chris T. (5/5)

      She's Allergic to Cats

"A grimy, glitch‑romantic oddity where a lonely Hollywood dog‑groomer spirals into love, anxiety, and VHS‑fried video‑art hallucinations"

      Pierre-Yves L. (4/5)

      Indie classic

"Solid transfer for this indie classic. Plus lots of extras and a nice slipcover."

      Brett C. (4/5)

      She’s Allergic To Cats

      "Nice film. Enjoyable."

      Richard W. (4/5)

      Great release

"Great slip, still on my watch list"

      Richard J. (4/5)

      She's Allergic to Cats

"Making weird art movies no one wants and groomin dogs to afford the rent and having a rat problem and finally getting a hot date and... Loved the slipcover and the film has some charm, and yes it´s probably meant to be a comedy but I couldn´t laugh as I felt for the guy. A surreal experience. Don´t miss it."
