Yellow Veil Pictures is a New York City and Los Angeles-based film sales and distribution company focusing exclusively on boundary pushing genre cinema, seeking to highlight filmmakers who exist on the cusp of commercial and arthouse cinema.

Set in Uganda, this documentary follows two men from opposite sides of the world who come together over a shared love for Chuck Norris. Isaac, a former brick maker, decides to pick up a camera and start shooting his own '80s inspired action epics, and Alan, a film nerd from New York, gives up his life in America to join forces with Isaac after seeing a trailer for one of his films online. Against all odds, the two unlikely friends have catapulted Wakaliwood to worldwide stardom with their own gonzo action movies, bringing joy to millions of people across the internet.

    Supa Doc

"moving and hilarious documentary that captures the pure heart behind the Wakaliwood phenomenon. It’s an essential watch for any film fan that perfectly contextualizes the 'Supa Action' movies with great technical quality."

    Get Wakaliwood Supa Action First

"Movie: It was really nice to see Wakaliga in HD, and there was some neat drone footage. The relationship between Isaac (IGG) & Alan is the core of the movie. It was nice to see them being good friends, and then when things get rocky my emotional investment jumped back up. There's a decently satisfying climax at the end, and while it's not the documentary's fault per se, I was left feeling a bit sad that Ramon Film Productions hadn't been able to make their finances work yet. It seems like they should have enough goodwill to make a big crowdfunding push get them at least _some_ runway. Extras: Nice to have the deleted scenes, but the option to watch them with "commentary" is just a brief spoken intro, so IMO they should just play that before the scene. The discussion in fine. Book: The essay solidifies the context around the film but is honestly kind of forgettable. Packaging: A solid inner cover."

    Tony H. (5/5)

    Uganda!!!

"Nigeria has Nollywood. Uganda has filmmaker Isaac Nabwana! And that's more than enough. This guy is absolutely bonkers."

Great documentary about the love of movie making

"I had never seen a Wakaliwood movie before this doc, and I don’t know if they could live up to this. An amazing story of a man giving it his all to make movies in his country, and the man who gave everything to document and help him."

Welcome To Not Hollywood, But Wakaliwood! Awesome Flick!

"This particular release may have been shot on a small budget, but it looks and sounds amazing, even Moreso due to the peerless Vinegar Syndrome restoration of sound and vision! The movie is very entertaining and tells the story of 2 friends from opposite sides of the world, who love action films, doing their own thing in Wakaliwood! Highly recommended!"

    Paul K. (5/5)

    Pure passion, pure cinema

"An infectious celebration of creativity against the odds. This doc captures the heart and hustle behind Wakaliwood with humor and sincerity. Beautifully packaged, with extras that show just how far love of film can take you. Inspiring stuff."

Shines a spotlight on what true DIY filmmaking is about

"An essential documentary for not only fans of Wakaliwood movies, but also anyone interested to see how DIY filmmaking can get for some people who have even less money and equipment when compared to people who call themselves DIY filmmakers."
