      Reviews

      Fun slasher flick

"Entertaining slasher flick where a serial killer taunts a psychic phone service operator. Probably one of Bai Ling's best career performances, and an interesting appearance by Steve Railsback of space vampire fame"

      Kresh R. (3/5)

      Love this title a good

"Love this title a good modern slasher with tons of horror and wince inducing moments"

      Will S. (4/5)

      grimy slasher/serial killer affair

"This movie is a 7/10, with the great-looking disc bumping the release easily up to 8/10. All the colors really pop, from blood-red scalps to colorful call-center lighting. NIGHT CALLER aims to be unpleasant but doesn't feel self-absorbed in edgelordian pomposity. Susan Priver is a great, grounded lead."

      Isaac W. (4/5)

      Misunderstood slasher

"As a trans woman with decent media literacy, the fact some folks thinks this is anti-trans need to improve their media literacy."

      Thomasin G. (5/5)

      Post pandemic Maniac

"Night Caller is a horror-thriller film directed by Chad Ferrin, known for his work in The Deep Ones and The Chair. The movie follows Clementine Carter, a telephone psychic who receives a call from a serial killer, predicting his murders before he commits them. The film is a throwback to 1970s horror, with a blend of gore, violence, and suspense, featuring impressive attack and confrontation scenes. If you like Maniac and 80s slashers, this is dedicated to you. Even one character is watching giallos and have a room full of movie posters that you will recognise instantly. Very beautiful cinematography, it's shot like it was a 70s or 80s sleazy horror. And you have pretty interesting features which emphasise the letter of love to horror fans."

      Jaume M. (5/5)

      Modern slasher

"This was not entirely my cup of tea. Something was lacking. I don't I will revisit this one real fast. The slipcover is great. And its nice to see a modern take on the slasher genre."

      Melvin H. (3/5)

      I’m a sucker for slasher

"I’m a sucker for slasher films, so even if this is a modern film and not from the golden era, I still had fun with it. A little more mean spirited than I usually like, but it was fun nonetheless the less. Extras and artwork are fine, but for the price I can’t complain. Give this one a try if you’re looking for a new slasher to add to your collection."

      Kyle C. (3/5)

      A++

      "Glad I picked this up!"

      Vanessa H. (5/5)

      Great Slipcover Artwork; Absolutely Creepy!

"I viewed this film on the Night Caller Vinegar Syndrome Blu-ray Limited Edition physical media release and it is the same great premium level of packaging and presentation that you’ve come to expect from the generic releases of this boutique label. No other brand beats Vinegar Syndrome at the cardboard game and this great slipcover is no exception to the consistently fantastic artwork and component quality this company produces. For my full detailed review of Night Caller, see my entry on Letterboxd: @M4N14K"

      Michael B. (5/5)

Good modern slasher with throwback elements

"I liked this modern slasher well enough. It has some throwback elements like the pristine looking old car the killer drives around in and a likewise pristine looking old cop car as well. Good performances from the cast as well."
