Juste great.
"If you like SOV this one is really next level. Story, acting, a lot of effort was put in this production showing that you don't need a big budget to make a great movie."
This special limited edition slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) is limited to 1,000 units and is only available on our website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them.
VHSHITFEST has been uncovering and releasing movies on video for over a decade, across DVD and VHS, and is now moving into blu-ray, with the same goal to showcase the most unique, crazy, and obscure movies that they've discovered through years of collecting VHS, allowing even more people to actually be able to experience these nearly lost gems in the best versions possible.
Night lays bare the planning, botched execution and grisly aftermath of an attack on a brood of lethal vampires. Leading the deadly pack is Anthony Garring (Richard Cutler), once a rum-runner, now a crack dealing suburban bloodsucker.
Night is a super unique and fun take on the vampire genre shot exclusively in New York in the mid-90s and never officially released. Only a handful of screener VHS were ever given away and it has been impossible to see until now. With a new transfer from the original master VHSHITFEST could not be happier to awaken this lost film from its tomb.

"If you like SOV this one is really next level. Story, acting, a lot of effort was put in this production showing that you don't need a big budget to make a great movie."
"I kind of like this. SOV movies are really just a oddity to me in general, but I kind of find it really charming for some reason. I wouldnt watch it again, but I enjoyed it!"
"Super cheesy, no budget good time that made me feel super nostalgic of the video store days."
"Night has cool artwork on the slipcover and reversible sleeve. There are a couple interviews and a couple of trailers included. I adore the low quality footage it always adds charm to the movies. A vampire crime caper that moves at the pace of a Jell-O shot down the esophagus. Not necessarily a bad thing. The vintage 90’s music is pretty good. The sound effects are all over the place, sometimes good and sometimes unnecessarily existent. Some good one and two liners in here. For what it is, the acting is somewhat decent at times, but mostly terrible. What else do you expect from VHShitfest? There are multiple incomplete camera shots which I always find hilarious. The alcoholic priest looks like one of the henchmen from Lethal Weapon 3. The atmosphere is dark and gloomy 90s trash. Extremely low budget. I love seeing the use of VCRs and tape recorders with old TVs in movies it brings me back to the good old days. There is even a scene using an old 90s cellphone. Favorite quote: Monica you bitch! X2 using the same exact audio sample. The violent scenes were actually realistic looking enough. The editing for this film was painstakingly dreadful. That being said, I am glad that these low quality tapes are being unearthed and preserved. This title has a lot more characters than Blood Hunter did, another VHShitfest vampire-themed release. I don’t know whether or not I’d recommend this movie as I didn’t find it very funny or exciting but it was okay. That’s my perspective anyhow."
"As someone on an unofficial quest to watch every vampire movie in existence, I definitely appreciate this formerly unreleased shot-on-video flick being made available. The print looks quite nice, the blood is plentiful, the acting is decent enough, and the story involving a vampire drug dealer is pretty original. Fellow bloodsucker fans should give it a try."
"I love the premise of this with a modern day vampire hunter. There are some interesting takes on the vampire mythology even if the film itself is just okay. Extras are also very limited, but I did like the cover art, fitting for the film."
"This doesn't take place in New York City, it takes place in Long Island, New York so adjust expectations accordingly. I really enjoyed this. Probably the best edited SOV flick I've ever seen, the pacing is fast and allows the strangeness to be breezed through in the best of ways. A vampire who was once a prohibition bootlegger and now a crack dealer. . . I can stop drilling, I've hit oil. Mid-90s SOVs give some great locales you don't see in any other kind of film, and this is no exception. Given the director has worked with 16mm before, he gets so many great looking shots that really maximize what can be done on video. Through the full 80 minutes, enough happens to keep you watch the screen. Also a nice surprise to see, of all movies, a framed poster for Al Adamson's "Angel's Wild Woman" in one scene. It's very Long Island, but here that gives it a charm ("holy wah-tah"). The gore/death is exceptionally well done for the SOV. Dialogue is sharp. This deserves to be considered among the top of the SOV genre. Recommended."
"I’m going to pack my car full of balloons and memorize that damn monologue. That, and then the SPLAT when the vampire hits the windshield, is pure cinema"
"VHShitfest is one of my very favorite partner labels. It's just amazing what obscurities Dan and Levi dig up for each of their releases. Often times these movies were hardly released at all, or only on self distributed VHS tapes, with a print run of 25 pieces or so. NIGHT is no different, as it was never officially released before. But I have to admit that this is probably my least favorite VHShitfest title so far. The plot starts out pretty interesting, but once the team of vampire hunters enter some sort of crypt, the movie just loses its footing with endless scenes of attacks and fights. The characters are poorly written and acted. There is some decent for, especially for a no budget joint like this. The extras are fairly plentiful again. I didn't listen to the commentary by the director though. The artwork is very cheesy and cheap, but it fits the tone of the film I guess. Slipcover artwork is mit much better."
"I do think it's pretty cool movies of this type are getting put out in nice editions, though this one didn't do too much for me. The story is fine enough and I'm okay watching SOV, but I'd given the cover art and the description at VS of "sexy vampires", I'd like some actual spicy content. It's part of what makes this kind of fare palatable. The interviews with the writer/director and the lead vampire actor were okay. Given this was a steep sale pickup, I can't really complain, so 3/5 for the overall package."
