The final film from director Alain Corneau (SERIE NOIRE, TOUS LES MATINS DU MONDE), LOVE CRIME pits the fiery talents of Ludivine Sagnier (A GIRL CUT IN TWO) and Oscar-nominee Kristin Scott Thomas (THE ENGLISH PATIENT) against each other in a deliciously twisted tale of office politics that turn, literally, cut-throat.
When Christine, a powerful executive (Scott Thomas), brings on a naive young ingénue, Isabelle (Sagnier), as her assistant, she delights in toying with her naïveté and teaching her hard lessons in a ruthless professional philosophy. But when the protege’s ideas become tempting enough for Christine to pass one as her own, she underestimates Isabelle’s ambition and cunning– and the ground is set for all out war. In this devilish, propulsive thriller, Corneau sets up a the scenery expertly and his actors devour it.

"Love Crime is a sleek, icy psychological thriller that turns office politics into something genuinely sinister, anchored by excellent performances from Kristin Scott Thomas and Ludivine Sagnier. The IFC Films Blu-ray offers a strong HD presentation, with sharp detail, natural colors, and a faithful film-like texture that suits Alain Corneau’s restrained direction beautifully. It also comes with a few nicely appointed extra features."

Don't sleep on this one
"The De Palma remake is better and kinkier, but you've still got two top flight actresses going head to head and that gives real rewatch value. Looking forward to the Travis Woods commentary."

Love Crime IFC bluray review
"Love Crime is a French/ English mystery starring Kristen Scott Thomas. I had never seen this movie and when I noticed it was on sale I checked it out. I enjoyed it. It really held my interest. As usual, Kristen Scott Thomas is very good. The image quality looks great as the movie is from 2010. The disc comes with a commentary, video essay and a booklet. The OCN slipcover looks great too! Check this one out. You won't be disappointed."

The film looks fine on
"The film looks fine on Blu-ray and the bonus features are very good but I continue to be disappointed that English subtitles are burnt into the film and cannot be disabled. As a French speaker, this is always bothersome."
— Nicolas K. (4/5)
