A Modern Lord of the Flies

"When several young women become trapped in a home alone after a disaster, their minds and relationships start to deteriorate in this thriller that examines femininity, their relationships to each other and society at large. Yellow Veil has packed this with great special features, including shorts and an entire bonus feature film!"

        Arty, amazing, sensational storytelling!

"Independent female driven films don’t get much better than this, a beautifully harvested, fresh story of multiple generations and attitudes. Solid drama, unconventional comedy, with cinematic visual storytelling with a perfectly cast ensemble."

        Shane B. (5/5)

        Ladies be crazy!

"*Ladyworld*, directed by Amanda Kramer, is a psychological thriller inspired by *Lord of the Flies*. The film follows eight teenage girls trapped in a house after an earthquake, where their sanity unravels as they face dwindling resources and rising tensions. The movie explores themes of power dynamics, survival, and the fragility of human relationships, all set against a backdrop of claustrophobic tension. While the performances are compelling and the sound design effectively builds a sense of dread, some viewers find the narrative disjointed and the atmosphere overwhelming. It's a bold, experimental take on group psychology and societal breakdown, but its abstract approach may not appeal to everyone. If you're into thought-provoking, avant-garde cinema, this might be worth a watch!"

        Tarek E. (3/5)

        Maya Hawk is so good!

"I loved this movie. Maya Hawk is such a good actress and I’d love to see her in more films. I really enjoyed the story and recommend this to pretty much everyone. The slipcover is amazing and great quality per usual."

        Jonathan D. (5/5)

        Ladyworld isintriguing and unique

"This film is an interesting releases by the label. A unique little thriller that grabs you from the start. Movies like this are ones that last with you for a long time to come. A game cast and arresting visuals, Ladyworld is profound and original and a great choice for the label to release which goes in line to preserving many films that pretty much filmgoers think twice of watching unless it's by word of mouth."

        DANNY G. (5/5)

        For Fans Of Psychotic Women

"This film is not going to be the usual VS fan’s cup of tea, but if you’re down with an “artsy” film with talking, slowly escalating dread, and women slowly losing their minds, then this is definitely one to check out. The comparison to “Lord of the Flies” is very apt, and if you’ve enjoyed the House of Psychotic Women stuff Severin’s been putting out with Kier-La Janisse, then you might have the right frame of mind to dig this. Obviously recommended if you enjoyed PLEASE BABY PLEASE and GIVE ME PITY!, though a much smaller, self-contained story (and a lower budget). Plus, the disc has bonus feature and shorts from Amanda Kramer. Looking for more of her work to join a Partner Label soon."
