A young man’s ability to surreally “be one” with and speak to cars sparks a revolution that could save his community. When his invention inadvertently accelerates the underlying problems of the community, our hero’s quest must grow bigger than his own personal ambitions and a fight for survival ensues with the zombies of capitalism.

"THIS VS RELEASE IS A SPANISH FANTASY/THRILLER OF A YOUNG MAN & HIS SUPERNATURAL WHEELS! THIS INDIE-THRILLER IS SOMEWHAT SIMILAR TO KINGS "CHRISTINE" BUT IN MORE OF AN ART-HOUSE MANNER. VS HAS PRESENTED AN EXCELLENT A & V TRANSFER & BR IS HOUSED IN A NICE SLIPCASE WITH REVERSIBLE ARTWORK."

Brazilian genre
"King Car is a strange, lively, and darkly satirical Brazilian genre film—part eco‑horror, part political allegory, part absurdist comedy—that uses possessed automobiles to explore capitalism, corruption, and the dangers of unchecked innovation. The story centers on a young man with a supernatural ability to “talk” to cars, a gift that becomes weaponized when his uncle turns their family taxi business into a cult‑like movement promising freedom through automotive liberation. What begins as quirky magical realism gradually mutates into full‑blown chaos as the cars develop wills of their own. The film’s tone is intentionally off‑kilter: bright colors, eccentric performances, and a playful sense of menace that keeps the audience slightly unbalanced."

Entertaining sci-fi release
"Entertaining sci-fi release. The title, and the main story of the film, centers around a rebuilt car infused with artificial intelligence. What could go wrong? Fun flick that also lays out some environmentally related questions. Comes with a few extras and nifty artwork on the slipcover and sleeve."

"Gotta say I bought this because of the artwork and the slipcover during a sale. Was fun to take a chance on and I haven’t seen a lot like it that’s for sure."

Should of been a black comedy
"Some interesting ideas, but this one didn't quite land with me. Some noticeable compression artifacts in a couple scenes as well."

A Cult Curiosity Delivered with Care and Style
"The shipping experience for this release was excellent — securely packed and clearly handled with collectors in mind. Everything arrived in great condition, which is especially appreciated for a title like this where presentation really matters. It’s reassuring to see that level of care from order to doorstep. The artwork is a standout. Bold, colorful, and unmistakably vintage, it captures the offbeat energy of the film while giving it a premium boutique feel. The design elevates the release from obscurity into something display-worthy, making it pop on the shelf alongside more familiar cult titles. As a release, this is Vinegar Syndrome doing what they do best — rescuing an overlooked oddity and presenting it with respect. The transfer is clean, the packaging feels substantial, and the overall curation makes King Car feel like a legitimate piece of cult cinema history rather than a novelty. For collectors who enjoy discovering strange, international deep cuts, King Car is a rewarding pickup. Great shipping, striking artwork, and a thoughtful release make it another strong entry in Vinegar Syndrome’s catalog."
