Good dumb fun

"Cool fun budget kung fu release from Pulse sublabel Narnarland. This movie is ridiculous and there are some nice extras. Lots of fun, recommend."

Sometimes A Film Is Just Bad

"Could you really recommend a movie that is borderline comprehensible? It's got action - but do the fights look good? No. It's got romance, but is the romance any good? Nope. Does the story attempt to be any good? I don't know. It's a Hong Kong styled action caper made entirely in Spain with limited knowledge of what made HK action flicks good or watchable. But then there's also a complete un-edited sequence of a plane taxing to a runway and takes off, which is just riveting entertainment if your brain hasn't evacuated your skull after 60 minutes. If you're comparing this to the likes of Devil Story, another Nanarland pick, but a superior one at that, just know this one doesn't have an ounce of the creativity found in other bad movies."

Grindhouse Saturday

"I bought this to complete my Pulse Video collection. It's a crazy Spanish film made on the Canary Islands that's pretending to be a Hong Kong Kung Fu film. It's completely ridiculous, full of badly choreographed fights and Spanish people passing themselves off as Asian. There is one notable actor, Albino Graziani, who starred in Jess Franco films like SINFONIA EROTICA and DIAMONDS OF KILIMANDJARO, but otherwise this seems to be everyone else's only credit. Gee, I wonder why."

Chuck F. (5/5)

Good for it you want

"Good for it you want to see a lot of people do roundhouse kicks near each other."

"Perfect content"

Crazy Spanish Movie Pretending to Be From Hong Kong

"Movie: Forget spaghetti westerns. Now we've got paella martial arts movies. Ostensibly set in Hong Kong, this was filmed in the Canary Islands, so it very much does NOT look like Hong Kong & everyone is speaking Spanish. Don't worry though, the chief of police has a (backwards) Union Jack and a picture of Queen Elizabeth II. My copy comes from a boutique label based in France (Pulse Video, partnered with Vinegar Syndrome). How about the movie itself? Some of the lamest fight scenes I've ever seen, which happen frequently and go on too long. The plot is dumb but coherent. Overall kind of "meh", although I did literally LOL a few times at the incompetence. Extras: Nice little nanaroscope thing + almost too many trailers of random kung fu movies (but in French!). It's honestly all I need for this particular fulm. Packaging: Looks nice, especially the slipcover"

Enjoyable cheesy fun!

"Low budget fun that I really enjoyed. Great cheesy fights!"

Billy-Jack D. (5/5)

This was such a fun

"This was such a fun low budget fake kung fu flick. For a film with such a low budget the fights were really well done. It's bizarre that it's a Spanish film trying to pretend that its a real Chinese film, a one of a kind really. The picture quality was very nicely restored."
