Quiet Romantic Tension

"Slow-burning and intimate, focused more on atmosphere and emotional restraint than big dramatic swings."

Music Box Selects is the Best!

"Music Box always delivers. Saw Just the Two of Us in the theater and am grateful it's getting released through VS (if you like Just the Two of Us and female-driven French dramas, Full Time and Other People's Children are also great releases from Music Box)."

"Wow Gregoire is such an asshole. Great film about abuse with excellent characters and fantastic performances. Especially Virginie Efira who does all the heavy lifting. Very happy with this release! Great job Music Box Releasing."

I'm in love with Virginia Efira

"Seriously, I don't care how good a movie is at this point, just throw Virginia Efira in everything and I'll find a way to enjoy it. I did enjoy this one - romantic thriller. Calling on Music Box Selects to release all films with VE."

Nicholas D. (4/5)

Great movie

"I bought it blind, and I don’t regret it. Excellent performances and great flow throughout the movie. Despite a few flashbacks in the story, it never feels confusing. The plot is solid, though somewhat predictable, but that’s fine. What I really liked were the camera movements and style used in the film very well done."

Emmanuel R. (5/5)

Well made but confusing characterizations

"The inciting incident in the plot of this one is that the lead, when dealing for years with an abusive, controlling jerk for a husband, decides to sign up for a dating site instead of divorcing him. There is no thriller element to this, despite it seeming like a Sleeping with the Enemy type movie. But the wife's decision not to get to safety or protect her children but instead to have an affair as a solution really doesn't make much sense. The twin element adds nothing either. We get the lead actress playing both twins but very few Parent Trap style shots with both in view. Not sure why they bothered since it brings nothing to the table. A very well made movie, and shows the slow boil of an abusive relationship, but since the years we see still pass in about 90 minutes, it doesn't seem much different from other abusive relationship films that seem to change on a dime."
