Don't be fooled by the title, this is an awesome thriller

"The title is a turn off, admittedly. It seems like a cheap way to lure in an audience with a buzzword or something. I was recommended this film by a friend and I'm so glad I gave it a chance. It is a really gripping thriller. It's an unexpected slasher from the slasher's POV and it actually works. Incredible locations. Great cast. And surprisingly insightful on the degradation and loathing spawned from influencer culture, yet, it's not really even about that. If you haven't seen it, take this as a sign that you must. The packaging is rad. The transfer is beautiful. The music is blasting. It's got great special features that really give you a peek into how you can do a lot with VERY little."

The Dark Side of Internet Fame

"Influencer might be my favorite Shudder film. It satirizes a shallow, narcissistic culture while at the same time shows respect for the hustle. I knew I'd be picking up a slip copy sooner or later. Said slip is beautifully designed, a subtle jab extremely online #NoFilter types and a sly reference to the movie's central thesis on identity. I've complained of the bare bones extras of Shudder releases in the past but they seem to be upping their game. This time you get 2 audio commentaries, BTS, deleted scenes and more. And of course there's the essay booklet, something they've never scrimped on. Slipcover copies still available!"

"Shudder is kind of a hit or miss label for me, but when they announced this movie, I was powerless to not buy it. This is a great movie that attracts you with an unusual premise and traps you with a unique narrative and the beautiful, but deadly Cassandra Naud who gives an incredible performance. I find that this one is difficult to recommend because of the title, but I have yet to hear anything negative from anyone I have recommended it to."
