Saturn's Core Audio & Video is a New Jersey based home video label devoted to releasing underground oddities and shot on video cinema on VHS, and now, blu-ray discs! In partnership with OCN Distribution, Saturn's Core will exhume forgotten or under-seen genre cinema from the 80s and 90s, with an emphasis on SOV horror features. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!

A ravenous, predatory creature from deep space arrives on Earth and unleashes its insatiable appetite for flesh and blood on an unsuspecting, seaside town. Assigned by his superiors to hunt down the creature, former starship commander David Riggs (Greg Scott) recruits the assistance of a reluctant psychic investigator named Sandra Lynn (Kathy Monks), who’s been haunted by gruesome, clairvoyant visions of the monster savagely mutilating the towns’ local teenagers. When her innocent young daughter is killed, Sandra tracks the beast to its underwater lair in a kamikaze attempt to detonate a thermonuclear termination device and obliterate the creature (and herself) once and for all.

A mind-shattering, analog splatterfest that blissfully unfolds amidst the late ‘80s shopping malls, rock clubs, and shorelines of Ocean and Monmouth County, NJ, Flesh Eaters from Outer Space (aka A Taste for Flesh & Blood) marked the headbanging SOV feature debut of legendary Neptune, New Jersey-based writer/director Warren F. Disbrow (Invasion for Flesh and Blood, Scarlet Moon). In the tradition of Humanoids from the Deep and Nightbeast, big teeth, big hair, and big riffs abound in this regional, “man in a suit” monster epic that’s bursting at the seams with jaw-dropping nudity and practical gore FX. A 1980s love letter to the monster movies of the ‘50s featuring homespun dismemberments, disembowelments, and decapitations at every turn, Disbrow’s Flesh Eaters from Outer Space remains one of the seminal ‘80s horror features that would help put New Jersey on the map as a hub for micro-budget, shot on video filmmaking in the decades to come.

Dead Hunt

"I enjoyed it"

Jason S. (5/5)

Hunt

"Is it hunting if the thing you are looking for is already dead?"

Paul S. (5/5)

A charming SOV scuzzfest

"A unique little take on the slasher."

Joe P. (4/5)

Taps directly into that mid-2000s horror forum era

"Exactly the kind of forgotten oddity Saturn’s Core was made to resurrect. Their Blu-ray gives this long-buried Dohler curio the sort of archival treatment regional horror rarely gets, turning an obscure DVD-R relic into a genuine piece of preserved horror history."

Mitchell C. (4/5)

Dead hunt

"Pretty rad"

Corey S. (5/5)

Don Dohler's last film

"Amazed to see another Don Dohler film released - I wasn't aware of this one before, so it was a nice surprise."
