"Saturn’s Core is an indispensable label on the roster"
""Amateur" describes a budget, not an ambition, and this is the film that clarifies the distinction. Trippiedi and his theater company made a small-town murder comedy on Betacam in 1999 with no expectation of a wider audience, and the absence of that expectation is precisely what makes it good — nobody involved is auditioning for anything. The ensemble is stage-trained and it shows in the best way: a shared rhythm, an unembarrassed commitment to bits that a more self-conscious production would have trimmed. The 1. 33:1 video image, once a mark of shame, now functions as period documentation of a place and a moment. Saturn's Core's edition is absurdly generous — hours of context around a film that spent two decades having none. This is what preservation is actually for."
"Kinda bizarre but interesting. Check it out."
"Much better than expected"
"Entertaining low budget neo noir with a fun storyline with plenty of fun twists and characters. Props for the effort on this project. Package comes with nifty artwork and there's a handful of fun extras on the disc."
"Its crazy. It SOV. I was not as impressed as I would have hoped. Not a big fan of it. Found it rather exhausting to get through."
"DOGS itself is an 8/10 for me, with the whole collection earning full honors. I love to see an otherwise unknown troupe of players making their brand of cinema. The shorts are a lot of fun. And of course, it's always worthwhile to get ahold of non-horror SOV craziness."
"More eccentric curiosity than polished thriller, it lingers as a snapshot of DIY Midwestern filmmaking."
"Bought this on a whim and was shocked by how good it was. A low budget drama with great dialog and interesting turns. I am very happy to add this to my already growing number of SOV movies bought from VS and Saturns Core."
"I just can never go wrong with some Saturn Core. I adore most of these."
