"This film is terrific - beautiful cinematography, beautiful electronic score, beautiful performances. The story begins literally but gradually shifts into a sort of magical realism. Absolute highest recommendation."

"This film is terrific - beautiful cinematography, beautiful electronic score, beautiful performances. The story begins literally but gradually shifts into a sort of magical realism. Absolute highest recommendation."
"The design of the awesome slipcover looks amazing and was very well done here! This movie gets a high recommendation from me for being a very fun watch all the way through it! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"
"Great movie to pick up on sale. The slipcover is fine and extras are minimal. Still worth the price of admission."
"Thus was another totally blind buy for me, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. This movie did a good job presenting many societal issues such as immigration, class disparities, corporations polluting and exploiting the environment, etc. The character development was well done, and the cinematography was very good. I just felt the only drawback was the ending. To Mr it just felt a little rushed and incomplete. However, overall, it was a very good movie and well worth a watch."
"engaging, multi-lingual storyline works perfectly. The way the film keeps parts deliberately separate then combines it all for the wrap up is awesome. Not much in the way of special features but the slipcover is very colorful and fun."
"This not on the same level as Beau Travail, but man, that is now two films featuring the French Foreign Legion that have been a pure cinematic experience. I love them both! For fans of music and (military) drama."
"It’s interesting seeing the training that men who join the French Foreign Legion go through. The movie has a lot of vivid imagery and a really great electronic musical score too."
"Visually rich art house fare, for fans of Refn and Noé. Interesting cinema."
"Disco Boy isn’t a typical “arthouse import” — it’s colder, stranger, and more formally controlled. The film moves like a trance: long, patient, beautifully lit frames, with politics and masculinity running under the surface rather than shouted out loud. Some viewers will find it distant; I found the distance part of the design. Vinegar Syndrome’s disc treats the film with the seriousness it deserves, allowing the camera work and sound design to really breathe."
"This is one stunning, tragic, and beautiful film. I hadn't heard of it prior to seeing it here with the OCN releases, but the involvement of Franz Rogowski (A Hidden Life, Passages, Bird) sealed the blind buy. Gorgeously shot, Two different men from different regions dealing with intense difficulties, who are not so different at the core. The slipcover is a nice and fitting addition to this film."
