"One of the Earliest Ivan Reitman films. Definitely different from what you know him from. Light recommendation"
"incredibly fun Canuxploitation and cool to see early-career Eugene Levy Andrea Martin bringing so much improvised charm to a horror-comedy."
"Great transfer. . fun but weird flick"
"Great treatment for an honest attempt at an indie horror comedy. The atmosphere is built well but frequently undercut by the stilted humor. Not quite a classic but you can see the roots of future classics from all involved here."
"From the first I heard of this movie, I badly wanted to see it but the parents nixed it. Cannibal Girls came and went at the local drive-in and I lived in misery for the next 50+ years, denied the horrific delights of this movie. When Shout released on DVD in 2010 the reviews were wretched and I chose to continue misery. Finally we get a quality Blu-ray release and I did not even wait for a sale to order! The disc arrived, I watched it, and now I fully understand what Spock explained so many years ago - "You may find that having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting. This is not logical, but it is often true. ""
"Love the alternative slip cover seen in Ghostbusters, Frozen Empire and the booklet inside is fantastic."
"Here we have an early film from the Canuxploitation golden years directed by Ivan Reitman. While described as a horror comedy, the tone is too slow for comedy but not serious enough for horror; it doesn't really know what it wants to be so it kind of sits in an odd no man's land. A minor classic in the Canadian horror scene, but something only for those who have seen all the major classics already."
"It’s mentioned a lot of the dialogue was improvised, and the unevenness of the endeavor makes that pretty clear. However the performances are entertaining and the exploitation elements sufficient for an enjoyable watch. The package itself is outstanding with many extras, a decent slip (now sold out) & booklet and reversible sleeve."
"Love seeing Andrea Martin and Eugene Levy before SCTV fame. Disc has good video and audio quality."
"One of the first Canuxploitation films and an early effort by Ivan Reitman, this CIP edition is loaded with great extras and a good transfer. I really enjoyed it and feel it's a definite improvement over the Scream Factory release."
