        Poor Boy Grows

"Follows an emerging adult as he travails relationships between his x dad, friend and romantic interests all while being unhoused. Gritty coming of age drama with good acting."

        Bottom Feeders

"Yes, I bought my own film on blu-ray. Yes, I'm giving it a biased five star review. And yes, the slip cover absolutely kicks. Many thanks to VS."

        Vincent D. (5/5)

Blind Buy, but glad I took a chance!

"This was a total blind buy for me. Price was good and I enjoyed the trailer/description on the site. All in all, the physical aspects (case, slip, etc) were as quality as any other VS or partner label release. That is to say, very well done! The movie is a complete drama, so if you're not in the mood for that I'd suggest passing. It deals with a lot of things such as sex addiction, poverty, and people with mental illnesses. It can be described as being a little "too real". All in all a good film that will hit just right when you're in the mood to see something without action, sleeze, gore, and horror (a big reason we all come to VS), but it's a quality title for sure."

        Josh R. (5/5)

        Bottom Feeders

"More curiosity than polished product, it survives as a snapshot of DIY irreverence in regional filmmaking."

        Bottom Feeders

"A bleak coming of age story with a gritty doc feeling. Recommended"

        Hansi L. (4/5)

        Man, what an assh*le

"Bottom feeders is the quintessential portrayal of… you guessed it, bottom feeders. Those fine folk that take advantage of everyone. One this is being down on your luck, needing help, another is this. The film was made with a micro budget, which when taken into consideration really puts into perspective the directors mastery on low budget filming. Acting is top notch. Theres some scenes that feel kinda annoyingly out of place, but in retrospect so does the characters of this film, the town and where they’re going. Ending kind a dud, but let’s be real, bottom feeders don’t have much going on for them so it does work. I dunno, that’s just me. Film includes some amazing and not so amazing shorts by the same director."

        John R. (5/5)

        Another one of the new-fashioned

"Another one of the new-fashioned indies where it thinks having a five-minute sequence of trying to deliver a hot dog to a customer in shaky close-up is what constitutes character development. There is some decent bits in this along with solid acting, but it's in service of very little substance before it just piffles off to the end credits. Tom and Jerry shorts tend to have more noticeable character growth."
