1976. A mild-mannered British sound engineer named Gilderoy (Toby Jones) arrives in Rome to work on the post-synchronized soundtrack to The Equestrian Vortex, a tale of witchcraft and murder set inside an all-girl riding academy. But as Gilderoy begins to work on this unexpectedly terrifying project, it’s his own mind that holds the real horrors. As the line between film and reality blurs, is Gilderoy working on a film – or in one?

More Occult than Giallo!!!

"Saw this one in a theatre years and years ago and it stuck with me and it’s tough to find on streaming so this BR release was more than welcome. A pretty cool movie, would say gets way to much comparison to a “giallo” I mean, there are nods but this is really more for the appreciator of occult films and themes, British horror as well and hey if you like Joe Meek and weirdo music producers of yore as well you could find some enjoyment from this. The essay in the booklet did a good job at ripping the roof off a bit further. Nice stuff."

What a great release, Lots

"What a great release, Lots of great special features especially the audio commentary by director Peter Strickland. I'm really starting to find this guy way underrated. All of his films have been absolute bangers. And let's not forget the score by Broadcast, so we'll done. Great purchase!"

Bryan K. (5/5)

Trippy Thriller

"A pretty quirky art house horror. I really enjoyed the films plot and overall how the film was shot and played out. I was in the fence with purchasing it, but grabbed it with my VS discount and was presently surprised how much I liked it. Packaging and presentation are excellent!"

Matt R. (5/5)

A giallo companion and good giallo in it's own right

"An homage that can be placed in the top tier of the genre it bows to. Tension builds well, into a surreal twist, that supports its thesis regarding the excesses of an important genre. Also, has ever a film been made that extolls the work of foley artists in this manner?"

Oleh S. (5/5)

A very creative & unique movie

"Very Good foreign movie. Its nice to get a glimpse behind the scenes of making the sound effects for a horror movie. Even thou its fiction its still very interesting. Unsettling dialog as well."
