We shine a light on independent genre films that have flown under the radar but deserve to be seen by all. Prepare for a movie marathon from the eighth dimension. BACKYARD BLOODBATHS is a triple feature of underground horror discoveries that have never been widely released. First is SUMMER HORROR DAY—a Casiocore splatterfest from the UK Video Nasty era that was shot entirely on Super 8 film. From there, we encounter 777—an experimental serial killer artifact that was conjured on video tape by teenagers in Tucson, Arizona and has never been released on any format. Finally, we visit BLACK MAMBA—a crazed psychedelic anthology from undiscovered auteur Belinda M. Wilson. Plus, the blood keeps flowing with THE PSYCHOTIC ODYSSEY OF RICHARD CHASE, A.I. MAMA, and BLOOD BATH: TALES OF EERIE PUBLICATIONS—three shorts that provide an ideal chaser for this surreal experience.

Reviews
BLACK MAMBA!
"The British film is pretty good, but the star of the show has to be Black Mamba. It's absolutely mental! It isn't a good film and it's a total assault on the senses, but you won't be forgetting it in a hurry, that's for sure! It was reviewed on RedLetterMedia's Best of the Worst, in case you wanted to get a better idea for what you're getting yourself into :) Highly recommended, clearly!"

Backyard Bloodbaths
"Backyard Bloodbaths is an offering from Bleeding Skull that focuses on even more DIY projects than we are typically given. The shorts and full lengths vary. We have a fun Super 8 film shot by a couple of kids in the UK. This is like Bad Taste on a lower budget and lower bar. Some of the practical effects are very mushy. It’s a lot of fun. The next film, 777, is the less interesting of all three features. Black Mamba is worth the price of this release alone. This is truly bizarre and actually engaging. The special features are the shorts. Unfortunately, the shorts are not interesting or memorable for me. I mostly like the design of the slipcover but can not understand why this image from one of the shorts was chosen. Should have been the mask from Summer Horror Day."

Great stuff!
"3 incredible oddities you're guaranteed to have never heard of! I was skeptical about this set going in, just because these are so off-the-radar they weren't even proceeded by any underground chatter, but Bleeding Skull really dug deep and unearthed some gems here - all of these are worth watching, and are by turns fun, funny, and surprisingly affecting. The shorts thrown in are a great bonus, too! There are a number of films on this disk that I now want to or have shown others, and if that's not a mark of quality, I don't know what is! Even though you might not have heard of anything on this set, for the adventurous, it's definitely worth a try! You may just find your next favorite underground movie!"

More than Mamba!
"Slipcover. . . Do you need them? In this case you most certainly do! Bleeding Skull has some of the coolest slipcovers on the planet and i'm still crying myself to sleep for missing one. But boy did i learn! The fomo got to me, but more than that. . . BLACK MAMBA got to me. Everyone and their cousin recommended Black Mamba to me. "You gotta see it", "It's the next level!". Little did they know that the whole package was like it was custom made for me. Summer Horror Day? Boy was it one. The timing was right too. It's summer and 777 wasn't a bummer either. The movies are cheap and their clearly a labour of love. You should love them! I do!"

Great Release
"A wonderfully weird collection for fans of cult B-movie trash! Backyard Bloodbaths features three full-length films and three shorts that perfectly capture the charming DIY spirit of independent filmmaking. If you enjoy offbeat, homemade genre gems, this collection offers plenty of entertaining material for a fun movie night. A great pick for anyone looking for something unusual and far removed from the mainstream."

Awesome collection
"Awesome collection of home made trash, so much creativity on display here, I love it! Bleeding Skull deliver as always."
— Jakob P. (5/5)
Must be seen to be believed
"Summer Horror Day was fun to watch, having been shot on actual film, and the Richard Chase short was pretty unsettling. The star of the show however, was Black Mamba, which my review here really cannot do justice. Every single aspect of the film (yes really, all of them) is so completely off the wall bonkers that I wasn't really sure what I'd watched by the time the credits rolled. Definitely worth the price of admission, and highly recommend!"

Nice Collection
"The slipcover is awesome, as always with anything VS or their awesome partner Labels release! It is a cool movie that was a lot of fun to watch! I always love the unique VS service of allowing you to stack as many movies as you like in your cart during any release period and ship them for free! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"

Worth the RLM Hype!
"Like many of the movies I'm interested in purchasing from Vinegar Syndrome, I first heard about this one through RedLetterMedia's review of "Black Mamba," and I completely understand why it blew their minds. Even though I knew the basic plot and many of the surprises, I was still thoroughly entertained by the movie's off-the-wall approach to its anthology of stories. I appreciate the quality of the transfer (visuals and audio are both great) as well as the excellent packaging. The additional features/short films are an interesting sampling that I would have never seen had it not been for them be collected together in this product."

Yard Sale(m)!
"Utterly bonkers stuff! And considering the past Bleeding Skull releases, that's really saying something! A mix of 8mm, 16mm and digital god-knows-what, this sick selection-box of diy mayhem is a must for those who crave psychotronic outsider-art. Did you think Boardinghouse was too restrained? If yes, then this release is for you. Being British, I was pleased to see a homegrown effort here (filmed sometime in the 80's - I wonder where this guy is now?), but each film here possesses it's own unique, fun aura. Highly recommended!"
