Art Label is the new outlet for envelope-pushing arthouse and experimental cinema. Growing from previous work under the Verboden Video and Culture Shock Releasing banners, Art Label is focusing on films that challenge traditional rules of form and content. Art Label is broadening its roots in horror and exploitation, reaching into other dimensions of expression to give new kicks to a well-versed audience of cinematic thrill seekers. Even the most hardened moviegoers will find stimulation in Art Label's releases.

When deviant director Stanley Durall returns to his erotic thriller, God’s Lonely Woman, to record an audio commentary for a boutique label, he accidentally unleashes vengeful spirits — cursed spectres who are ready to enact brutal and bloody revenge for his past transgressions…

The A LITTLE MORE FLESH films combine bold performances with transgressive scripts to create unique cinematic experiences critics have called ‘Funny, shocking, sad, beautiful and very, very clever’ (Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Alliance of Women Film Journalists) and ‘The best film of the year. A completely new form of horror’ (The Devil Times Five podcast).

Bringing together an unforgettable cast of characters played by Elf Lyons, Harley Dee, Hazel Townsend, and many more, featuring cameos by Lloyd Kaufman (Troma), Laurence R Harvey (Human Centipede II) and Lauren Ashley Carter (The Woman), all shot on iPhones, brace yourself for an experience comparable to ‘recent masterclasses including Peter Strickland’s In Fabric and Jordan Peele’s Get Out’ (Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Alliance of Women Film Journalists).

      Reviews

A Little More Meta Than Usual

"I couldn't pass on the idea of a movie about a director going into a boutique label to start recording commentary for a movie, only for it to all go awry. The art looks ridiculous, slipcover and cover. The camera work and editing is exciting."

      Jake B. (5/5)

      Haha this sucked!

"Movie full of cheap shots that feels like it was made by someone who doesn't understand the actions he's invoking."

      Avery E. (1/5)

      Strange visual story

"This was my first time watching an Art label release. Overall I enjoyed it, strange visuals and some great shots throughout."

      Nicholas V. (4/5)

      A Pair of Acquired Tastes

"A Little more Flesh (as well as its sequel A Little More Flesh II which is also on the disc) are interesting little meta Dogma 95 inspired flicks from film critic and podcaster Sam Ashurst. They are not for everyone but no one can argue, garish cover art aside, that this is a lovely release. Featuring commentaries from Ashurst himself, legendary critic Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Freudian analysis of both films from Mary Wild (a regular on The Evolution of Horror podcast), a short film, behind the scenes and more. If you've heard Sam on Podcasts or read any of his film journalism, check this out."

      Trent S. (4/5)

      Great watch

"Weird but i love it. . not for everyone"

      Richard J. (4/5)

      A lower budget movie full

"A lower budget movie full of great performances. It's unsettling at times, but it's a worthwhile revenge flick that features a generous amount of extras."

      Alistair D. (4/5)

      A Little More Flesh

"Stanley Durrall and Sam Ashurst horror/dark comedy. Super cool limited edition slip case."

      Zach S. (5/5)

      A little more flesh

      "Worth the watch"

      Andrew D. (4/5)

      A Different Rape Revenge Story

"Love the artwork. A film that mixes genres and take a lot of risks, wonderful. Contains an extra feature film and a lot of great extras. It is art, but great art. Highly recommended."

      Hansi L. (5/5)
