Yellow Veil Pictures is a New York City and Los Angeles-based film sales and distribution company focusing exclusively on boundary pushing genre cinema, seeking to highlight filmmakers who exist on the cusp of commercial and arthouse cinema.

Siblings Daphne and Wilson Shaw practically raised one another. They’ve protected each other from everything life has thrown their way. Daphne’s professional life is soaring and she’s looking to adopt a child. Wilson is interviewing for a position at a local school, hoping to become a teacher. But Daphne has an unsettling, dangerous stalker whom she can’t seem to shake, now threatening to destroy them both. They hunt for their tormentor through the shadowy streets of Brooklyn, honing their bodies and minds for a showdown. But this foe may prove to be more than they can handle. They will break and rebuild themselves if necessary to save each other, and protect the light they know is in this world for them... if only they can persevere.

Reviews

Just watched "When I Consume You" and honestly, it stuck with me more than I expected.

"It's this low-key indie horror about a brother and sister dealing with some really heavy stuff in their lives—like addiction and feeling totally alone—and then this creepy stalker thing shows up that might be supernatural or might just be their messed-up heads. The vibe is super unsettling and slow-burn, not jump-scare city. The acting is really good, especially the two leads (they're siblings in the movie and you totally buy their relationship). It's bleak and kinda depressing at times, but in a way that feels real, not just for shock value. The visuals are cool too for such a small budget movie. Not gonna lie, it's not super fast-paced so if you're in the mood for something action-y, maybe skip it. But if you like thoughtful, atmospheric horror that messes with your head a bit, give it a shot."

Love the slip

"Interesting indie flick, I still prefer his previous work 'They Look Like People' but I did enjoy the atmosphere here."

Alexander N. (4/5)

A great watch.

"Second film from the director I see. It has a small budget, but even so the story is so strong and unique. Also the slipcover is so gorgeous."

No one depicts mental illness and platonic love better

"Being a huge fan of Perry Blackshear's They Look Like People, I had no problem rolling the dice on When I Consume You during Partners Only month. While I found the feature not quite as impactful as his debut (supernatural elements come into play), I still enjoyed the darkly menacing cinematography and the guerilla-style camera work. The streets of Brooklyn have never been so foreboding. As always, the slip artwork is A+, reimagining and improving upon the original poster art. Blackshear and Co. are ones to watch out for. I can't wait for a physical release of The Siren!"

Love the mood of this movie

"Movie was dark, moody, a great combo with the two leads but still unsure what to think of it all."
