Note: this is a brand new limited edition variant slipcover of a 4k UDH/Blu-ray Combo originally released in 2022. It is not included in any subscription, nor will a subscriber coupon be issued.

This special limited edition spot gloss variant slipcover (designed by Trevor Henderson) is limited to 4,000 units and is only available on our website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them. The original limited edition slipcover (designed by Robert Sammelin) was limited to 6,000 units and is sold out.

George Lutz, his wife Kathy, and their three children have just moved into a beautiful, and improbably cheap, Victorian mansion nestled in the sleepy coastal town of Amityville, Long Island. However, their dream home is concealing a horrific past and soon each member of the Lutz family is plagued with increasingly strange and violent visions and impulses. Fearing for their sanity, they consult with Father Delaney who realizes a dark supernatural presence has consumed the home and is attempting to propel the Lutz family into becoming its latest victims of unspeakable acts of violence...

One of the most acclaimed and terrifying horror films of the 1970s, director Stuart Rosenberg's (Cool Hand Luke) The Amityville Horror (TM) features powerhouse performances from James Brolin (Westworld), genre film icon Margot Kidder (Superman, Black Christmas), Rod Steiger (In the Heat of the Night), and cult star Don Stroud (Django Unchained). With a chilling screenplay by Sandor Stern, based on Jay Anson's best selling novel, and an unnerving score by Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible), Vinegar Syndrome is proud to present the UHD debut of The Amityville Horror, stunningly restored in 4K from its 35mm original camera negative and featuring a comprehensive selection of new and archival interviews.

A Dark Slipcase for a Dark Film

"A true slow-burn classic with atmospheric dread. The UHD transfer looks excellent, and the surround audio mix is equally impressive. I also appreciate the understated artwork on the glossy slipcase, which gives the release a refined presentation."

      Blursed Zillow Listing

"Great curb appeal, only slightly possessed by demons and a portal to hell. What more can you want. The VS release of Amityville Horror looks stunning, even though I didn’t score the original slip. This one still looks great. VS always knocks it out of the park with the packaging."

      Paul C. (4/5)

      Love this film

"This movie has somehow eluded my collection until now. Thrilled to add this beautiful VS release to the shelf!"

      Ian R. (5/5)

The detail in this restoration was amazing!

"I missed the original release of this, but this new slipcover edition is a great alternative. The atmosphere in this 4K scan is thick and oppressive. The textures of the house with the peeling wallpaper, the black goo, and the wood grain, all looked tactile. It preserves the film’s natural 1970s look while sharpening the clarity just enough to make it feel modern."

      Tommy L. (5/5)

      Classic

"A classic horror movie! Looks great on 4k. I also like the slipcover."

      Andre E. (5/5)

      American dream

"The trashier sequals of this series might be more to my liking but this has a certain feel to it that can be only found in the 70's horror that i love. Solid release."
