"crazy movie."
"This is "mumblecore meets Cronenberg," trading high-octane action for tense, claustrophobic apartment drama. It’s a uniquely unsettling experience that feels less like a traditional horror movie and more like a feverish snapshot of societal decay."
"Saturn's Core did an amazing job with this gruesome SOV title. The physical release treats the movie with serious respect, and the custom artwork on the slipcover looks absolutely incredible on the shelf. Perfect for underground horror fans."
"Sitting at home and rotting w rot"
"Punk SOV horror with a lot of energy. Enjoyable"
"Hard to see, even for an SOV release, but underneath the grime there is a great movie"
"I thought Billly Scam's performance was very natural and worked out great, he was my favorite part of Rot Neat to see a Casualties show, and the director's interview shed some light on the punk house everyone stayed at in that section of Florida. The story itself is interesting, the execution isn't that great and Wynkoop is annoying as hell. But it's stacked with extras and I probably will rewatch, maybe it'll grow on me."
"Saturn's Core gives us another curious debut feature of a director who went on to make more well known horror films, this time Marcus Koch (100 Tears, American Guinea Pig: Bloodshock), who was in his early 20s when he directed "Rot". As a punk and hardcore guy, I was immediately hooked by the whole snotty and dirty tone of style of this 80 minute flick. The soundtrack is perfect and features several well known punk bands like The Casualties. There are a couple of nasty and gory moments, but don't expect this to be as brutal and realistic looking as "American Guinea Pig" or a Brian Paulin. The parton saint of American SOV Joel D. Wynkoop appears in this, and that's always good. There is hardly any other partner label that puts so much work and love into its bonus features as Saturn's Core, and this release is not different. It's jam packed with two audio commentaries, tons of interviews, a very interesting visual essay by great Heather Drain (I want one on every SC release please!!!) and two bonus movies/shorts by Koch, which he did as a teenager. So much stuff on here, it's insane. I love the unusual, but fitting artwork on the slipcover. Very well done."
"The slipcover artwork is awesome, as always with anything VS or their awesome partner Labels release! The special effects are low budget but that is how I like them sometimes! The soundtrack is really kicking, and cool and the movie was a fun watch from beginning to end! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"
"Well, the cover definitely got my attention haha. Very much enjoyed it."
