This listing is for the standard edition Blu-ray/DVD combo. The limited edition slipcover was limited to 3,000 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover.

The Nomed Family has been the victim of an ancient curse in which the first born daughter of each generation has gone violently mad and then suspiciously dies. No one can explain the Nomed madness, but some say it's because of the possession of a terrible demonic force. By way of an unnatural urge during her Mother's funeral, Susan entered her family's mausoleum, and ever since an evil presence has been lurking inside of her, waiting for a chance to come out. Now an adult, something is hiding inside Susan's body, coming out to grotesquely murder anyone who comes too close to uncovering her terrifying secret.

A consummate blending of early 80s supernatural horror and slasher film tropes, Michael Dugan's (SUPER SEAL) MAUSOLEUM is a stylish, sleazy, and outrageously gory production, featuring a series of imaginative death scenes orchestrated by effects wizard John Carl Buechler (REANIMATOR, TROLL). Starring Bobbie Bresee (GHOULIES) and Marjoe Gortner (WHEN YOU COMIN' BACK RED RYDER?) and featuring a moody orchestral score from Jamie Mendoza-Nava (BOYS OF COMPANY C), Vinegar Syndrome is pleased to bring MAUSOLEUM to to Blu-ray, under exclusive license from producer Michael Franzese and distributor Lon Kerr, fully uncut and newly restored from its camera negative, with its 'explosive' opening sequence completely intact.

Nomed backwards is Demon

"Movie: Coming back to this after many years and I'm still underwhelmed. It didn't help back then that a certain body horror element near the end was over-hyped, but even without that expectation I didn't get enough out of this. The therapist's office having matching wallpaper, curtains, *and an outlet cover!* was the highlight of the movie for me. I will say that there is definitely a lot of craft in the SFX, although it's unfortunately brought down by suboptimal audio (e. g. the demon voice is hard to understand _and_ doesn't really match the mouth movements). Also, while sometimes the green eyes effect looks great, in other instances it's done with a freeze frame and looks awful. Shout-out to featuring J&B: probably the best character drinks some before the funniest joke in the movie. Extras: Always nice to have the trailer, and two TV spots as well (enough to pluralize the word at least). The interview with Buechler is good, maybe 10-15m at most. Promotional stills are from a German company. Packaging: Bonus points for reversible cover. I know it's the original poster, but one side looks so much like goatse."

Old school horror classic that

"Old school horror classic that I had to have in the collection. I’ve had the DVD but once you see the picture quality on this transfer you’ll realize it’s a must have. Great release from VS on a horror rental staple that every child that grew up in the 80s or 90s remembers in the horror section of their favorite video store"

Movie Rips

"I caught this at our local arthouse last year when the podcast The Fright Zone programmed it, and I had to pick up a copy. This movie rips."

Jeff S. (5/5)

Mausoleum

"Another great release from Vinegar Syndrome."

Early VS Days!

"I’m surprised with the transfer, but potentially this is the best the movie is ever going to look. You gotta be in the right mood to watch it but it’s good fun."

Chad G. (3/5)

Mausoleum

"Good Movie."

Manhar G. (5/5)

Late night classic

"80's horror late night classic"

Luiz J. (5/5)

Mausoleum

"Mausoleum is a stylish slice of early ’80s horror that leans fully into its gothic atmosphere and supernatural thrills. The film’s striking imagery and memorable score help create a sense of creeping unease throughout. It’s an entertaining cult favorite that rewards fans of classic, over-the-top horror with plenty of dark fun."

Jeffrey W. (5/5)

I wish I could have

"I wish I could have got a copy with the sleeve, but they were sold out by the time I found this release. The transfer is good, but one of the earlier ones before Vinegar Syndrome upgraded their equipment. This film is an interesting possession movie."
