Nora Mae Edwards had always dreamed that a handsome and wealthy man would offer to marry her, but she never expected to find love while working the night shift at a sleazy diner. However, when John Henry Cox proposes to her within moments of their meeting, Nora can't help but say yes. Whisked off to John's home town of Newbury to live in his family's mansion, Nora discovers that her new husband's profession is that of an undertaker, and that the local death toll is disproportionately high. As the joys of marital bliss soon give way to increasingly violent nightmares, she begins to suspect that her seemingly gentle husband may be harboring a dark secret, especially when she learns that she's far from the first 'Mrs. Cox,' but even more terrifyingly, that while her husband desires her body, he'd prefer it cold and dead...

A darkly humorous and vaguely supernatural story of necrophilia, GRAVE ROBBERS is a gruesome black comedy about the meaning of love and lust after death. Written and directed by Straw Weisman (FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE), and the final producing effort from exploitation film tsar, Lew Mishkin, Vinegar Syndrome brings this direct-to-video rarity to Blu-ray, newly restored from its camera negative and fully uncut.

Fun horror comedy

"This movie is wacky fun. Don’t go in expecting straight horror. It’s more of a horror comedy. As soon as you have it figured out there’s another twist. I loved it. Really fun. Movie look great. Absolutely fantastic"

"Amazing that Vinegar Syndrome put out two films called Grave Robbers and they both rip."

Tyler M. (4/5)

Twisted tale of marriage and mortuaries

"Some people just can't find love, but others dig a little deeper and bring back the kind of love that won't give "no" for an answer. This movie gives "cold shoulder" a new meaning entirely, but don't let me spoil everything in the black comedy for you. Is it amazing? No. Is it a made for TV gonzo black comedy horror film starring the beautiful Elizabeth Mannino with some boobs and corpses tossed in to entertain? Sure is! If you don't know Elizabeth, well, then you've never seen this film with only two credits to her name, but whatever. . . check it out. It's a fun watch for date night, I swear!"

Joshua K. (5/5)

Old Style VS Title

"When I first got into Vinegar Syndrome, it was because they were restoring a lot of weird 80s and 90s films which really interested me. Not always good movies, that's for sure, but films that no other labels would go near and every now and then, I'd discover a real gem. Fast forward approximately 5-10 years and nowadays releases like this seem incredibly rare. That's not to say I don't enjoy any of the films which they're putting out, just an acknowledgement that the output has changed. Grave Robbers isn't a great film, but it was perfectly watchable. I've read a lot of reviews stating the acting is terrible, but I quite enjoy an off-kilter performance. As it happens, I thought most of the acting was perfectly fine, but it fits with the film that people wouldn't seem quite right. And without spoiling it, if you've ever seen the superior 'Dead and Buried' then you'd understand why people would be acting strange. One thing I particularly liked about this film was the actress in the lead role - I thought she was incredibly expressive (those eyes remind me of Clare Forlani). I was surprised she only did one other film, but that does happen sometimes. Another strong point for the film was the synth score, which fits the film perfectly. I'm holding on to this one for now, as I really need to watch it again. So as it was interesting enough to keep, I'd have to recommend it."
