This listing is for the standard edition 4K UHD/Blu-ray set. The limited edition slipcover (designed by Robert Sammelin) was limited to 5,000 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover.

While assisting on a dig, a construction worker accidentally destroys the final resting place of a demonic zombie, rousting him from his unholy slumber, and reigniting his taste for human flesh. Meanwhile, a group of teenagers have decided to spend the night camping in the woods for a Halloween hayride, only to have their partying interrupted with the arrival of an ever-growing army of bloodthirsty undead! Will anyone survive the night in one piece?

A lo-fi gore epic directed by actor and cinematographer Bill Hinzman (The Crazies), star zombie in the classic Night of the Living Dead, FLESHEATER (aka Revenge of the Living Dead) is a fitting tribute and homage to Romero’s chilling masterpiece, updating the setting to the late 1980s while piling on the gut munching, throat ripping, and limb tearing action. Vinegar Syndrome is delighted to bring this highly ambitious slice of regional madness to 4K UHD and Blu-ray, in a brand new, eye popping (and gouging) restoration from its original 16mm camera negative, presented in its cinematographer and producer approved 1.33:1 aspect ratio for the first time on disc, along with a host of brand new extra features!

directed by: Bill Hinzman
starring: Bill Hinzman, John Mowod, Leslie Ann Wick, Kevin Kindlin, Bonnie Hinzman, Heidi Hinzman
1988 / 89 min / 1.33:1 / English Mono

Reviews

Such a fun film

"This is such a fun film. It does what it set out to be, a fun gory zombie romp"

Sandra H. (5/5)

Decent

"It's worth watching at least once and has some memorable scenes. The transfer is great, the extras are good. You could do much worse for a movie night with friends."

Charles W. (5/5)

Such a simple classic cover

"Such a simple classic cover and transfer on this movie is gorgeous such an oddly calming movie. So glad i picked up this release."

Will S. (5/5)

The Flesh Eater

"“Flesh Eater” or “Zombie Nosh” as they call it in the UK, is a low budget zombie flick from Pennsylvania directed and acted by Bill Hinzman. A teacher I had, Jerry Gergely, who was in charge of the SFX once told me: “It’s shit, but it’s fun shit!” I must disagree and say that this is not shit and yes, it is a lot of fun! Zombies! Boobs! Gore! And the backwoods of PA as the scenery make this regional little horror project a good one to have on disc and what better disc than this remaster editions sporting a great quality transfer."

Sebastian C. (5/5)

Predictable and meaningless

"A decent low-budget zombie film that’s reminiscent of Night of the Living Dead, minus the good script, acting, and plot. Otherwise, it’s a fun watch."

Noel H. (3/5)

FleshEater

"Movie looks really good. Great features"

John M. (5/5)

This is a savage movie,

"This is a savage movie, that little girl got ATE lmfao! The picture was great, what a great example of a film you'd have never thought would look this good on 4k, but it does. That slipcover art is spectacular too, violence and nudity in one lovely painting. The music for this film SLAPS too! Great Halloween zombie vibe!"

Jason A. (5/5)

Night of the Living Denim

"A love letter to Romero from the first zombie in Night of the Living Dead. Tons of features that are worth the price alone."

Adamtroy N. (5/5)

The Definitive Edition of "Flesheater".

""Flesheater" is an often forgotten zombie movie made in George A. Romero's old stomping grounds of Western Pennsylvania. While not on the level of Romero's zombie films, this one is still very enjoyable despite the extremely low budget showing here and there. The wealth of bonus material provide a solid history of the making of the film. Great transfer, too."

Vince C. (3/5)

My new favorite zombie flick!!

"Another superb blind buy!! I've been a fan of zombie movies since I was little and I never saw this flick. After reading and watching some reviews, I decided to check it out. I was pleased from beginning to end. Just buy and watch all the extras (They're pretty good)!!"
