This listing is for the standard edition Blu-ray/DVD combo. The limited edition slipcover (designed by Justin Talarski) was limited to 2,500 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover.

In director James Bryan's 1981 cult classic, a group of obnoxious campers venture into the wilderness for what they assume will be a fun filled weekend. Unknown to them, a bloodthirsty maniac is hiding in the woods, watching their every move, and violently killing them, one by one, every chance he gets... Filled with low-fi gore effects and black humor, DON'T GO IN THE WOODS remains one of the quintessential regional slasher films of the early 80s, and is coming to Blu-ray for the very first time, newly restored in 2K from the 35mm Interpositive and loaded with extras.

80s Slasher Madness

"What DGITW lacks in polish, acting, and well, competence, it more than makes up for in effort, ambition, and general insanity. There's some bonkers characters, lots of nice scenery, some surprising gore, and a memorable villain. If you're a slasher fan, it's a film you must experience in all its glory, especially in this beautifully restored VS release, stacked with extras."

Kyle S. (4/5)

Fun Slasher Release

"A very fun cult horror release with the rough-edged charm fans expect from this kind of film. The transfer is solid, the atmosphere comes through well, and the overall presentation makes it a great collector’s edition."

Thomas L. (4/5)

NEXT!

"So many random people gets killed in the woods in this film thats it starts to get really tiresome. New scene, new people, new kill. Next scene, new people die and then one of them run away to meet som more random people that also gets killed."

Bjarte A. (2/5)

Missed out on the slipcover,

"Missed out on the slipcover, but i was not missing out on this piece of cinema gold, VS is the best when it comes to putting out slasher flicks you have heard of and my favorite in that sub genre is the camp slasher and is film is no exception, this is one anyone into VS should pick up easy watch and is frequently on sale."

Will S. (4/5)

So bad it's good!

"The kind of slasher film so incompetent it makes you realize how much of a masterpiece Friday the 13th is. So yeah, pure fun!"

Steven E. (5/5)

Great Release as always!

"Great release from Vinegar Syndrome as always! Fantastic artwork and always a pleasure to go on the wild vinegar syndrome ride to goodness!"

Jason D. (5/5)

High body count, low everything else

"Synopsis: Campers get slaughtered by a hulking maniac that doesn't want people in "his woods". Review: Very impressive body count but that is about it. The acting is bad, the characters are annoying and it just plods along as our bear skinned killer goes from area to area killing anyone on his turf. Carnage Count 3/5 Sleaze Score 1/5"

Brett J. (1/5)

Crazy, nonsensical slasher with, quite

"Crazy, nonsensical slasher with, quite possibly, the worst score ever committed to film. The rampant ADR and horrific acting add to this fever-dream of a flick. Despite, or because of this, the film is tons of fun!"

Gabriel G. (3/5)

Don't Go And Watch This Movie

"I get what the director was going for. I get that it is a very low budget movie. Wilderness horror is a sub genre that I really like, but boy was this a slog to get through. It had some decent gore moments, but I felt like it was just random people running around in the woods and getting picked off. There wasn't a cohesive narrative to get the film from beginning to end. Presentation from Vinegar Syndrome is great as usual, but I'm glad I caught this one on sale."

Nathan L. (1/5)

Can't resist a video nasty.

"Can't resist a video nasty. Not the best i've seen, but good fun. Mean spirited, violent, i just wish it had subtitles."
