This special limited edition spot gloss slipcover (designed by Luke Insect) is limited to 2,000 units and is only available on our website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them.

Degausser Video was created by several of the devious minds behind VS, which will bring to Blu-ray deluxe editions of both canonical and under-seen shot on video (SOV) genre cinema, in addition to work shot on film, but edited on tape, wherein the original film materials are believed to be lost or destroyed. Similar to Vinegar Syndrome's focus on FILM preservation, Degausser will work only from original analogue tape materials with an emphasis on maintaining the aesthetics inherent to each respective video format. Additionally, each title released by Degausser will be made available in an ultra limited "new" VHS edition, fitted in a custom designed hard shell light box.

Thirteen years after going on a bloody, food-related killing spree, gluttonous Ethel Janowsky is deemed fit to return to society and transferred to a halfway house presided over by the kindly old Hope Bartholomew. Settling in alongside the other oddball residents, it’s not long before Ethel’s homicidal rage is once again triggered when one of the staff taunts her with chocolate bars. After throttling the man to death with a hastily-improvised noose, Ethel sets about hacking and slashing her way through the remainder of the residents - and anyone else unfortunate enough to wander onto the property.

The notoriously bonkers follow-up to the 1975 proto-slasher classic Criminally Insane, CRIMINALLY INSANE 2 (aka Crazy Fat Ethel II) - once again directed by prolific exploitation merchant Nick Millard (Satan’s Black Wedding) - sees the inimitable Priscilla Alden reprising her role as the deliciously unhinged Ethel Janowsky in this delirious shoestring sequel sure to please fans of shot-on-video shlock. Now newly restored from the best surviving tape master, Degausser Video is delighted to serve up CRIMINALLY INSANE II for the first time on Blu-ray alongside a host of bonus features.

The Worst Slipcover and Packaging From VinSyn Ever?!

"For my full detailed review of Criminally Insane 2, see my entry on Letterboxd: @M4N14K I viewed this film on the Criminally Insane 2 Degausser Video Blu-ray Limited Edition physical media released through Vinegar Syndrome and I’m honestly disappointed that it doesn’t possess the same typical quality of packaging even if the presentation is still on point. Common, this is just lazy! Legitimately might be the ugliest slipcover ever produced by VinSyn."

Criminally. . . . insane. . . . . 2!

"This movie is nuts lol and I never thought I'd see the day where it got the royal treatment like this from VS. slipcovers beautiful and the extra features are fun too!"

"Movie: tl;dr just watch the BoTW episode. It's hard to judge this as its own experience, because **so** much of it is reused footage from the first Criminally Insane. Having seen that film, I couldn't help but judge the use of the recycled scenes against their original use, and it's just so much worse here. Added to that, the new footage is low-quality VHS (including droning sound but no score), and so much of it is scenes that go on too long. So boring it's hard to focus on for most of the runtime, but at least it was less offensive than the first one. Extras: The two pilots were interesting enough, especially if you like to think about how things are made. Doctor Bllodbath: Another tedious SOV horror from Nick Millard, where recognizing the reused locations is probably the highlight. This is extra odious b/c it's about an abortionist who's killing his patients, and like, if he thinks abortions are immoral, then _why did he become an abortionist?_ That's not a career path you just **stumble** into. Packaging: OK overall, although the inner cover isn't reversible, and has the same outer image as the slipcover, which isn't my preference."

Very strange SOV movies.

"Bizarre and slow, but fun for SOV fans. There's some pretty good laugh out loud moments. Also some extra movies as bonus features."

Damon H. (3/5)

Great diy sequel. Good stuff,

"Great diy sequel. Good stuff, nice disc."

Jeff B. (3/5)

Wow. . .

"Nothing near good as the the first criminally insane but still watchable. The bonus movie Butcher knife aka doctor bloodbath is one of the wors movie I have ever seen. Truely fascinating."

Part 2

"Excellent addition to my collection!"

Michael M. (5/5)

Insane indeed

"backyard slasher sequel that doubles down on the glorious madness of the original. Priscilla Alden completely steals the show as the hilariously food-obsessed, unhinged Ethel. wildly entertaining."

Kevin G. (5/5)

Criminally Insane 2

"Decent enough sequel"

Matthew E. (4/5)

She's back. . .

"Who wouldn’t want more Ethel and a shot of Criminally Insane 2? Which definitely is a better title that Crazy Fat Ethel… I mean why would we want to put down the lead character? Batshit bonkers or not, Ethel is back and Priscilla Alden needs more appreciation for bringing Millard’s wacky characters to life. I love seeing bananas low-budget stuff get the treatment it deserves."
