The HD Remaster was created from the original print with new color grading supervised by original cinematographer Benoit Debbie and director Fabrice du Welz. Calvaire - Blu-Ray review

"Brilliant folk horror movie with very weird atmosphere. Plus Brigitte Lahaie makes a cameo appearance."

NIKOS D. (5/5)

ok

"The problem with this film is it‘s too slow paced. And also it doesn‘t know what it wants to be a comedy or a thriller. Too tame for a thriller and too dark for a comedy. Also the finale is umsatisfying and the film just ends. We thought that this guy will at least take out his enemies in the end. We both expected more from this film. Luckily we got it on sale."

Richelle S. (3/5)

Feel good holiday flic

"Great film. Great presentation by VS here. Thanks!"

Kai R. (4/5)

Calvaire

"It's a good and effective film. But not as extreme compared to other movies from the French extremity movement"

Glenn M. (5/5)

grimy

"part of a trilogy and i felt like this was better then the others in the series. kinda grimy and gross so obviously i liked it."

Luther T. (3/5)

Great film

"Excellent service!"

Matthew S. (5/5)

definitive release for French gem

"Hadn't watched since it first came out. . . saw it on streaming and then immediately ordered this blu-ray. Obviously, the quality of sound and image on this disc puts the streaming counterpart to shame. I found this to be one of the most curious and richest texts to emerge from the New French Extremity, and the supplements included certainly help shed some light on this often overlooked gem. Huge recommend for fans of the sub-genre."

Jon R. (5/5)

DON'T BURN MY VAN MAN!

"DON'T BURN MY VAN MAN! A STRANGE FOLK HORROR FILM IN THE STYLE OF DIRECTOR David Lynch! NICE BLU RAY, WITH GREAT COVER WITH COOL EXTRAS! 9/10"

Derek L. (4/5)

I Love This Movie!

"The cover of this film is amazing and the always amazing, peerless VS restoration process is amazing as well, with an amazing transfer and incredible audio! The movie itself is very engaging, and it takes you to the extremity of a very engaging, and bizarre series of situations! Highly recommended!"
